2000 5

2001 6

2002 7

2003 13

2004 8

2005 11

2006 13

120 Dandy Warhols 'Bohemian Like You[/b]

119 The Futureheads 'The Beginning of the Twist'

118 Placebo 'Slave to the Wage'

117 Van She 'Cat and the Eye'

116 Ben Folds ft Regina Spektor 'You Don't Know Me'

115 White Lies 'Death'

114 Red Hot Chili Peppers 'By The Way'

113 Queens of the Stone Age 'No One Knows'

112 Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance'

111 Eminem 'Stan'

An almost entirely male dominated 10 here, with 'featuring' appearence from Dido and Regina Spektor the only hint of a female. 'You Don't Know Me is a wonderfully poppy and uplifting song, which I discovered at the back end of last year, and has just kept growing and growing on me as the year hass gone on. Five that most people might recognise here, from Queens of the Stone Age, Chili Peppers and Dandy Warhols which, like most people, I didn't know until the advert, as well as number one singles from Eminem and Roger Sanchez, one of my favourite number one singles of all time and a great summer anthem! Also appearing are Van She from earlier this year, White Lies who I didn't really get until I heard the album, The Futureheads again, and a great lost gem from Placebo.

Dandy Warhols what a classic!

and ovs Futureheads again

but what i really wanted to say was... QOTSA, f*** YEAH.

and also Stan is an amazing tune.

There are some similarities with tracks I've selected/I'm selecting for my Top 200 shortlist which as I type stands at 344 tracks and growing and no act has more than 6 songs within that total.
Dirty Mind also topped my personal chart :o ended Shakira's epic 10 week run with Hips Don't Lie no less! great great great song, my favourite of theirs, even above Pull Shapes
Sorry about the lack of comments - although you probably don't need me to tell you that I approve of the vast majority of things included so far. Could I be really lazy and ask for a recap post of the first 100 to give a proper full comment?

119 The Futureheads 'The Beginning of the Twist' - Fantastic, from an unappreciated album.

117 Van She 'Cat and the Eye' - Fabuloso, not their best single from the album but still marvellous.

115 White Lies 'Death' - Great song, was 3rd in my best songs of 2008!

114 Red Hot Chili Peppers 'By The Way' - Probably my favourite from this album as a whole, Zephyr Song would be second, great.

113 Queens of the Stone Age 'No One Knows' - Quality track, my 3rd favourite by them, not really enjoyed their last two albums.

111 Eminem 'Stan' - I don't like much Eminem but this is definitely one I do.

107 MGMT 'Kids' - Overplayed but still undeniably a good song.

106 The Bravery 'An Honest Mistake' - Decent song, that's all.

105 The Pipettes 'Dirty Mind' - The lovely Pipettes, can't get much more fun.

103 Doves 'Black and White Town' - Good.

101 Gorillaz 'Feel Good Inc.' - Starting to appreciate this more than I did at the time, very enjoyable.

Tsssssk. Make me look bad whydontcha! :drama:

You are bad! Should have been a good chart follower and commented on each update! B)

149 Kings of Leon 'Use Somebody' Although it's becoming quite overplayed (Not as much as SOF though) it's still a damn good song!

148 Glasvegas 'Daddy's Gone'

146 Pendulum 'Slam' The track which got me into Pendulum!

143 Amerie 'One Thing' :o!

142 Blink-182 'I Miss You' Another incredible song!

126 Oasis 'Songbird'

124 Arctic Monkeys 'Fluorescent Adolescent'

122 Coldplay 'The Scientist' I must admit, it's not until recently I have clicked with this song! Stacey from XF blates did it for me :smoke:

119 The Futureheads 'The Beginning of the Twist'

116 Ben Folds ft Regina Spektor 'You Don't Know Me'

112 Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance' One of thee best dance tracks EVER!

111 Eminem 'Stan'

106 The Bravery 'An Honest Mistake'

101 Gorillaz 'Feel Good Inc.'

Hope to see 'Mr Brightside' high up!

Nice selection there. Quite a lot I haven't heard. Surprised 'No Good Advice' is top 200 over 'Love Machine' though! :o  'Piece' of Me' is probably one of, or my favourite Britney song! :D 'Fluorescent Adolescent' I love, and is one of my faves by the Artics, along with 'Brianstorm' ^_^ Oh, and I love Kasabian, probably my favourite on WRPLA :)

I hope there's more Rihanna in here, maybe 'Disturbia'? and also Girls Aloud (:kink:).

I really do think that 'This Is Not The World' was a massively underrated album, they were really back on form with that. I agree 'Kids' is hugely overplayed and I did tire of it a bit but I love it again now. I don't like 'Zephyr Song' at all. :drama:

Thanks Theo, good to see you liking a fairly decent amount. No more Rihanna I'm afraid, though I do think 'Disturbia' and 'SOS' are both great. There may be some more GA though. ^_^

100 Howling Bells 'Setting Sun'

An incredibly underrated band, are Howling Bells. 'Setting Sun' was the song which drew me to them firstly and has remained my favourite ever since. Beautiful.

099 Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPG4WHhJk3A

I've never been a massive fan of Snow Patrol, but they do have some excellent songs, two of which make my top 100. Martha isn't someone I'm particularly fond of either, she's too banshee for my liking but this song just works.

098 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy'

I first heard Zane Lowe play this at the back end of 2005 and thought it was excellent. It was very different from what was around at the time and was always destined to be a big hit, it deserved every bit of its success! My third favourite number one of the decade.

097 Goldfrapp 'A&E'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VPyso87fZU

People said that 'Supernature' was a limp effort and that last years 'Seventh Tree' was a return to form. I thought 'Supernature' was great but on the evidence of this I wasn't going to do much arguing. Stunning.

096 Death Cab For Cutie 'I Will Possess Your Heart'

I've always been partial to a bit of Death Cab but this is easily my favourite song by them. Over 8 minutes long and the first half instrumental, it was unusual enough to have me hooked from first listen.

099 Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' - They do have a couple of good songs and this is one of them.

098 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' - Good song, maybe didn't deserve to be quite AS BIG as it got, but it is better than the normal chart fodder.

097 Goldfrapp 'A&E' - Beautiful song, the best from that era which was disappointing overall.

096 Death Cab For Cutie 'I Will Possess Your Heart' - I only have 'Plans' by them but I do remember listenign to this and it was good, not my favourite by them though.

095 Feeder 'Just A Day'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGrUVHqt2mE

Back when they were good. Apart from a couple of tracks on 'The Masterplan' this is one of my favourite B-sides ever. It seemed a lot of people thought it as it ended up being released as a single itself and turned out to be one of their biggest and most popular hits! I even knew it as a B-Side too, as I bought 'Seven Days In The Sun'. On cassette! :D

094 Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Zero'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGxBTsmuRIk

Like the White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs aren't a band I've ever been particularly fond of but every album seem to produce one single I absolutely adore. When I heard this stomping anthem in the Spring I thought this would be it, however the album turned out to be pretty excellent too!

093 Kings of Leon 'The Bucket'

They may currently be one of the biggest bands in the country, but I've always felt the quality has been there, especially with this, a Personal Chart #2 for me in 2004/

092 Missy Elliot 'Gossip Folks'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl4I6rbXuHs

A slightly surprising choice, perhaps? When this was released as a single it was the Fatboy Slim remix that I used to hear all the time and fell in love with. The original was great too, and helps it into the top 100. I've searched for a while for the FBS remix, both legally and illegally, but I can't find it at all. :( If anyone had it somewhere I'd be eternally greatful....

091 Idlewild 'American English'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joB0tlOjKcU

Possibly the most underrated band that's ever existed. I love Idlewild to bits, and this is the song that first made me fall in love with them.

099 Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'! Not my favourite SP song, but it's definately up there.

097 Goldfrapp 'A&E' STUNNING! This song pleasently surprised me. I love it. Definately in my faveourites of the decade!

Not heard the others bar 'Crazy' :puke: I will give them a listen after JLS' album LOL :P (Ha! Being shunned out for JLS' album, whatever next? LOL)

EDIT:

095 Feeder 'Just A Day' Big fan of Feeder. This is definately one of my faves!

094 Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Zero' Again. Another song that tok me completely by surprise.

The others (apart from Missy) again I haven't heard. I find Missy Elliott horrifically overrated! :puke:
