A bidding war? 4.0 could never...

I'm surprised that they haven't signed with a label yet though

Well, they seem to have a quite definitive release schedule (first single in May, album in September according to Siobhan) so I would say they must be either in the very final stages of the negotiation or it doesn't really affect to the campaign. Sounds like they've got full control over the production of the album and won't use any of the resources the label could get them in terms of producers.

Bidding war does back up what we've heard before that they were recording the album then shopping it as a finished product to labels. Giving the girls mass control over it which is more along the lines of what Siobhan had for Ghosts, what Mutya would have probably desired after being burned by Crown/Island throughout the Real Girl era and what Keisha would have liked after having no control during Sweet7 (and we all know that K is someone who likes control.)

They better go to a good label. Complete with solo deals.

My guess is that the label willing to make additional solo deals is the one that already owns some back catalogue of them. So they would take the risk with those deals, but they would also benefit from the new sales of One Touch and Revolution In Me (Warner) or Sugababes 2.0/3.0, Ghosts and Real Girl (Island/Universal).

I don't mean to sound bitchy but it's so ironic that there's a bidding war over v 1.0. I'm glad Heidi and Amelle can't get a record deal as a band. I really really hope now Heidi realizes the mistake she made by choosing the trouble-maker and being naive enough to think people would still support them. They got what they deserved (except Jade, I feel bad for her cause she seems so nice) but Heidi and Amelle totally deserve to be in the position they are now.

Back on topic - I really hope they consider One Touch as a possibility.

It would be brilliant. Something 1.0 related is a must though as they'll benefit HUGELY from the strength of the 1.0/2.0 material.
To be fair, the only name I properly accept for 1.0 is Sugababes. And I _still_ hope for some miracle...
Me too. I don't like One Touch as a name even though it's a reference to their album. I really don't know what would fit them.. If they can't have the Sugababes I want a spin-off name.

Other than 'Sugababes' (which doesn't appear to be happening for obvious reasons), 'One Touch' is the only name for them I think I'd be pleased with. I don't want a spin-off or different take on the Sugababe name - something like Origibabes would be awful, tacky and potentially credibility damaging - it just has to be One Touch.
I like the One Touch idea but could they not just call themselves Sugababes* or Suga_babes or something, i.e. a slightly different spelling/presenation but the same pronunciation? Or just Suga?

You know, hearing Mel Blatt's comments re: the All Saints reunion makes me happy that Keisha, Siobhan and Mutya seems to be taking things at their own pace instead of trying to force something. While there's of course always money as motivation behind these type of reunions, I really do think All Saints did it for all the wrong reasons which is part of why it all fell apart so quickly.

Hell, even if it worked out it seems like they were doomed to repeat the same mistakes as Shaz once again seemed to be the main contributor for Studio One and that was seemingly a big issue back in the day. I'm rambling a bit, but at least 1.0 seem determined NOT to repeat history, otherwise they would've just taken the deals that were offered back in 2009.

OMG WHAT A LEGEND SHE IS!

I too am far happier that they put their past behind them first, then agreed they felt they had unfinished business, slowly starting to work together in a studio together for the first time in over a decade to see if they had that same spark they had first time around and if they had something to give before even beginning to think about an album never mind a label.

I think new music is coming soon!

(The deal better not be an April Fool's joke)

It's from the scum so I'm going to take it with a pinch of salt for now, but still be excited that the music industries worst kept secret is still on the go.

I personally think it's a good sign that they are still being written about, it shows that the press is still interested/on their side which will help when it comes to new material.
