I'm gonna go top top 100, I know it was huge in the states but it doesn't really sound like the sort of song the general public over here would go crazy for.

It's having a UK release? Best news I've heard all day :D

I'll go for #1, as I love it, and I'm sure everyone else will too

Way too early to predict, but this could be the first #1 of 2010, I love it there are some album tracks on you tube as well which are pretty good.
Top 10 I think. It might struggle for airplay, but I think there's some hype about him right now, it couild do an Esmee. Personally I love it

It doesn't really work like that though, anything that's as huge as this in the US is guaranteed to practically mirror it here, especially through hype and stuff.

I can't really see this being anything other than #1, but if not it'll still be mega huge.

Definitely top three. Was pleasantly surprised to overhear it on Radio 2 today ^_^

Oh, and he's SO getting on the Sound of 2010 list...

who do we have so far

-Ellie Goulding

-Owl City

-Erik Hassle

any more?

You're missing THE most obvious two:

Ke$ha (okay she's big already, but she'll be GaGa big next year)

Marina & The Diamonds

Kesha won't be eligible as she'll already have two huge hits under her belt (if you count Right Round)...was Marina already on the 2009 list

-Two Door Cinema Club

Anyway as for this tune, his new album is pretty shoddy, but Fireflies is a good track. Can see it being #1, although will predict #2.

I still think Ke$ha counts tbh...

But no, M&TD weren't on '09 list.

'09 was:

Little Boots (#5 album, #6, #13, #97 singles)

White Lies (#1 album, #33, #34 singles)

Florence + The Machine (#2 album, #12, #37, #54 singles)

Empire Of The Sun (#19 album, #14, #64 singles)

La Roux (#2 album, #1, #2, #27 singles)

Lady GaGa (#1 album, #1, #1, #4, #12, #14, #19, #83 singles)

VV Brown (#30 album, #34 single)

Kid Cudi (album not top 100, #2, #67 singles)

Passion Pit (#55 album, no singles top 100)

Dan Black (nothing top 100)

The Big Pink (#56 album, #27 single)

Frankmusik (#13 album, #26, #27 singles + #10 single with Young Soul Rebels)

Master Shortie (album not top 100, #81 single)

Mumford & Sons (#11 album, #24 single)

The Temper Trap (#26 album, #6 single)

(I assume you mean the BBC Sound of poll)

It's interesting to note how successful these 15 acts have been... Dan remains the only one to have no top 100 success in either chart.

I can see him doing quite well on the BBC sound of 2010, i'd be surprised if he isn't top 5 on it.

I agree its too early to say but if he has the airplay, hype (#1 in USA) and promo etc I'd find it hard to believe it'd miss the top 5, I'd say top 3 though, but #1 isn't out of the question (especially if the release schedule is lacking), it could explode I reckon.

I think Cheryl Cole's newie and Sidney Samson are the other ones to watch in January.

I can't believe Pixie was missed off the Sound of 2010 list? was I actually the first person to hear about her in the country or something (well over a year ago...) :drama:

Tinchy, Chipmunk etc... were obviously all missed too, the list always focuses far too much on indie which is a flop genre at the moment
