November 3, 200915 yr Author Lady GaGa (#1 album, #1, #1, #4, #12, #14, #19, #83 singles) Which Lady GaGa song made number 83?
November 3, 200915 yr I can't believe Pixie was missed off The record label did their best to keep her very quiet with regards to interviews, gigs, TV or radio prior to her campaign. The poll probably didn't do too much digging.
November 3, 200915 yr The record label did their best to keep her very quiet with regards to interviews, gigs, TV or radio prior to her campaign. The poll probably didn't do too much digging. I only really stumbled across her (then very basic) MySpace by accident last September, I had no idea that she was going to be launched properly a few months later :o I guess it all really was done very much on the quiet, it's surprising that record companies can still do this in the days of internet, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace etc...
November 3, 200915 yr Which Lady GaGa song made number 83? Beautiful, Dirty, Rich. The #97 Boots single was 'Meddle' by the way.
November 3, 200915 yr Author Beautiful, Dirty, Rich. Oh. That song deserves to be placed higher. Still impressive considering it wasn't an official single release (well, yet ;) ).
November 3, 200915 yr Tinchy, Chipmunk etc... were obviously all missed too, the list always focuses far too much on indie which is a flop genre at the moment You can't really include Tinchy as he released a debut album last 2007. Edited November 3, 200915 yr by I Am FM11
November 4, 200915 yr Every year the BBC Sound poll misses acts off that are big in the following year, and it completely over-estimates some acts as well. With the exception of Dan Black, the poll this year was pretty good. Alright some of the acts may not have set the charts on fire, but having huge #1 singles is not always the definition of success, especially in the indie/alternative genre. This year will be no different i'm sure. The poll i'm sure for this year has already been carried out/is is being carried out? So it's the acts that are releasing limited releases now that get all the attention in the Poll as they're already building up momentum for next year. I'm pretty sure Ellie Goulding or Marina & the Diamonds will be #1 this year as at the moment those are the two that seem to be getting the bulk of the hype, and will definitely be pushed majorly by their record labels next year.
November 6, 200915 yr Such a blatant rip off of The Postal Service. A little DISGUSTING tbh. Ben Gibbard for the simple minded. Mcs3wSzqTI8 mm sexual <3
November 6, 200915 yr Great single deserves a good chart placing. #1 in the US - Miles better than the usual crap #1s on their chart
November 28, 200915 yr Tru dat :kink: Anyway, he is touring here in release week, going to the O2 Academy in Islington (London) on 18 February. Maybe he could get number one :o
November 28, 200915 yr Top 5 These BBC Sound of 20XX lists are compiled by looking at new acts in foreign charts and ringing up record labels to see signings releasing in that year. They are often good indications of people that will be big, but a lot of labels don't respond because they want to be in total control when the artist is first exposed to the public. Owl City will probably be in the list this year because of the overseas success.
November 28, 200915 yr He'll prob be top 5 on the BBC top 20 and will get quite alot of hype I think. I see no reason why this won't be #1 and thats what im predicting, though its hard to tell this early on as we don't know the full release schedule yet. Its certainly exploding now, its been #1 on USA and Denmark, #2 in Canada and already top 3 in NZ plus its just gone to #1 on Netherland itunes.
November 29, 200915 yr Top 20! Because it will be released too late... Actually I don't understand record companies why don't they release songs at the same time everywhere. And they do wonder that people download music illegally...
November 29, 200915 yr Top 20! Because it will be released too late... Actually I don't understand record companies why don't they release songs at the same time everywhere. And they do wonder that people download music illegally... Although I see what your saying and agree with what your saying about holding back releases, it certainly hasn't stopped tons of acts from having success, just look at Lady Gaga released 5/6 months before releasing here. Plus the average music buyer won't have heard it yet until it gets radio/tv play in the new year.
November 29, 200915 yr -Penguin Prison -Marina & The Diamonds -Delphic -Two Door Cinema Club Anyway as for this tune, his new album is pretty shoddy, but Fireflies is a good track. Can see it being #1, although will predict #2. I  Ocean Eyes atm - A really beautiful album imho. I'm not sure how big this'll be over here though, I said top 20 as I don't think it's quite in your face enough for the N-Dubz, Taio Cruz etc crowd that are dominating the charts atm.
