December 16, 200915 yr Author It would be stunning. I think she should do it after her 4th album tho, a few more epic track thrown into the ring. I'd love to see her attempt a proper uptempo she easily has at least 20 songs worthy of a best of if you count UK/Aus singles and other singles not on albums anywhere (Flawed/Never Fades Away/Together We Are One etc...) she's shown that she can do uptempo with Predictable/Sweet Dreams so I agree

I did still absolutely love this album though and still do and think it was a bit unfarily underrated despite being a UK #1 and million seller...it's generally seen as their weakest of the four proper studio albums, and I guess I'd agree with that. Rain was the only song I really had no love for though, everything else was brilliant even the Europoppy Give It All Up and pop-rock No More Cry. I did however prefer the Unplugged versions of Radio and At Your Side than the new too polished studio versions.

Her second album, Drastic Fantastic, was more of the same but with less emotion - these tracks had a lot more feeling and I love them all.

She was born and raised in St Andrews, attending Lawhead Primary, then Madras College and High School of Dundee [The former being my high school, Bell Baxter HS's main rival, and the later being a private school in dundee] Her folks still live in St Andrews

The proclaimers are from Auchtermuchty [i have friends from there] about 10-15mins west from Cupar. They went to my high school. Shamefully i went to the high school responsible for 500 miles. Some of the people who taught me no doubt taught them as well :heehee:

Butterfly - 8.5/10 So, after ten years apart Take That reformed in 2005 for a tour and it later emerged that they would be recording a brand new studio album. I was hardly thrilled at the prospect. I liked the 'new' track on the new best of, Today I've Lost You but it was essentially an older track that hadn't been recorded until 2005. As soon as I heard the fantastic Patience I instantly became interested in the new album. I bought it on my way to uni one day and sat in the common room whilst doing some reading to listen to it for the first time. I liked the first five tracks, but it just seemed pleasant. But then I heard Shine and everything else went out the window - this band were back on top form. The second half of the album was just as good as the first half and the whole collection was a huge grower. Along with the two HUGE hits on here, I'm a big fan of Howard's Mancunian Way and Jason's Wooden Boat - the 4 songs between them were my big four closing anthems to 2006  fantastic comeback album, they certainly showed everyone else how a comeback is done!

A two disc set of their third studio album and a greatest hits collection, I loved the second disc with the UK hits, the two brilliant Melodifestivalen entries and some other great pop songs but the new album was equally brilliant. A tiny bit patchy two thirds of the way through with three uneventful songs, and a redundant remix at the end, the opening six tracks plus the early S Club-esque Put The Top Down and the glorious Abba-pastiche Thank You, has made this my most listened to album of 2009 without a doubt and already one of my favourites of the decade.

Quirky pop songs were scattered throughout this album as well as beautiful downtempo moments such as Wild Horses and I Bruise Easily. Smash hits Unwritten and These Words nestled next to great songs that would never be smash hits in a million years - Frogs & Princes, If You're Gonna for example!!! The bonus track Sojourn, which I thought for ages was called Perfect Day was better than half of the album and another beautiful song. The only song that could easily have been a hit that wasn't on here is the Guy Chambers co-written Silent Movie, which had a brilliant chorus, verses and middle-8 and was incredibly anthemic. Such a shame it wasn't fourth single after Unwritten. I loved and bought the US version of this album too which featured Estelle on Drop Me in the Middle instead of Bizarre, as well as excellent new tracks The One That Got Away (a UK b-side previously) and Stumble, a gorgeous song that really should have been squeezed onto Natasha's second UK album N.B. As it stands only die-hard Natasha fans and anyone who took part in BJSC II when I sent it would have heard it :kink:

I don't know why as I love Silence, Sweet Surrender, Angel and others of hers. Short but sweet, only a ten song collection but every song was of the highest quality. Tear jerking ballads Fallen, Answer and Time sat alongside the mid-tempo radio hits World On Fire and Train Wreck while the angry rocky Stupid was another highlight. Kept me awake on my morning journey's to college in 2004 anyway!!! Very classy, very very good.

Keep On Singin' My Song - 9.5/10 A stunning second album from Britney's main rival Xtina. I enjoyed her debut but this was something else, which in my opinion changed the face of pop music for the rest of the decade, along with Linda Perry who had helped shape Pink's similarly edgy second album which had come out a year earlier. I bought this on the day of release, unlike most people who bought in 2003 when she scored hit after hit from it. Be it the club bangers Dirrty and Can't Hold Us Down, the rockier Fighter, the uplifting Soar or any one of a load of beautiful ballads - Walk Away, Beautiful, The Voice Within etc...this was just pop music at its best and deservedly one of the biggest selling albums of 2003. There are at least three songs on here that have gone down as contemporary classics and it changed public perception of Xtina for good. One of very few albums that warranted being as long as it was.

I Ain't in Checotah Anymore - 10/10 14. Inside Your Heaven - 9.5/10 Carrie Underwood is my second favourite American Idol winner to date, running an incredibly close second to Kelly Clarkson. Unlike Kelly's patchy debut album though, Carrie launched with something that felt like 'her' unlike Kelly's which was a bit all over the place. This was country pop at its finest, and this is coming from somebody who is hardly a fan of country being over exposed heavily to the worst of the genre as a child from my parents. Before He Cheats was an anthem that could have been a huge UK hit, goreous country ballads Whenever You Remember, Inside Your Heaven and Jesus Take The Wheel were as good as uptempo Shania like songs such as We're Young & Beautiful and one of my favourites, the autobiographical I Ain't In Checotah Anymore. Excellent debut, although she's got progressively less interesting with every album since.

Mother Mother - 10/10 WIAFA is such an odd overated song, its lyrics don't correlate with its vocal tone at all. I don't know if their intention was sarcasm? It's just so dull and generic and with an almost misunderstood concept to it. Mother Mother is amazing lawlz, when you listen through the whole album for the first time, the last thing you'd expect is such an outburst to an almost hard rock extent. I adore that song, ha I'd even go as far as to credit as legendary. My favourites on the record are Nobody Wins and Leave Me Alone, their vocals are so underrated and the lyrics are so intense together with the perfect backing just gives me woo goosebumps. Secret is so lol, they've got quite some bit of quirkyness too them too. This $h!ts all over Hook Me Up of which I only like 5 tracks on the whole album. Album numero three is apparently dropping quite soon too. :P
