She hasn't hit number 1 yet with 'Happy' anywhere has she?

EDIT: I think Austrian iTunes but they don't include downloads in their charts yet do they?

People need to notice the difference's between 'Happy' and 'Everybody in Love', 'Bad Boys' and 'Fight For This Love'. 'Happy' is the first song off Leona's new album, and the others are the first song that each of the others has released. 'Fight For This Love' is Cheryl's first solo song, 'Bad Boys' and 'Everybody in Love' are also Alexandra and JLS' first songs. Of course theirs are going to shoot up first.

Another difference is the type of song, 'Happy' is a real ballad, without a distinctive hook. It takes a while to love the song (in most cases), it actually took me a few listens before I even liked it. I personally think that 'Happy' is much better than the other songs mentioned, but obviously, it's just my opinion and music tastes are subjective. I just hope she gets to #1, because IMO it definitely deserves it, due to having more depth and actual meaning than the majority of the songs on the charts right now.

JLS second single

& Alexandras second aswell if you count Hallelujah

Everybody in Love is JLS' 2nd song.... as is Bad Boys for Alexandra.

I get what people mean about Happy - it isn't an instant hit, however will probably have alot of staying power wherever it does end up as people will probably like it more with each listen

My point exactly.

This is her sixth single, and if she misses out on the No.1, then it will be be her sixth consecutive Top 5 hit.

I wonder if the others will be albe to say that.

Also no X Factor contestant- not even Alex- came anywhere near getting the first week album sales that Leona got.

Post of the day! Although, EIL is actually JLS' second single but it was still released before the album so it is basically a debut :P and Leona doesn't have the advantage of having hormonal teenage girls buying 20 copies each (like JLS) ^_^

Happy isn't mainstream compared to most songs in the charts atm so it will have that disadvantage although it doesn't stop it from being a superior song.

Hormonal teenagers ? yes their fanbase has a large majority of young girls.. but not all of us like them for their looks :| I am more than willing to admit if I dont like their songs

I think they do, but I'm not 100% sure.

Come on Brit!

BY FAR the best new release this week!

I agree, I love Leona but this is not her best song TBH. About A Girl with Jade is awful IMO.

Go go Queen B!

Has Broken-Hearted Girl finally risen?

B as in Britney Spears!

Totally forgot about 'Beat Again'...oops! But I don't count 'Hallelujah' because that was her X-Factor single, I'm talking about first proper single.

As much as i love Leona, please don't compare their album sales. Leona's album was released in 2007, Alex's was released in 2009. The comparison is irrelevant. And Alexandra is also marketed as a singles artist while Leona is more of an album artist (more mature fans than Alex due to the type of music).

I disagree.

AAG > I Need You > 3 > Happy imo.

But yeah, Britney should be top 20 like the rest..

A Lead single is still a lead single. Just as much as people would be wanting to see what the new artists will be coming up with, people will want to see what Leona will be coming up with. There are a few really good songs on her album but IMO happy is just dull and boring, and even if the lyrics are meant to be deep, I find the actual song is lacking and she frankly doesn't convey the emotion well enough in her singing... And Everybody In Love is JLS' second single...

Anyone else quite impressed that the '' video effect '' is having on ESOM. Didn't think it would go top 10 again.
I think they meant Britney not Beyonce.

I know. I was taking the pi$$. There's only one Queen B in this music industry and that's Beyonce ^_^

Britney Spears can be called BS
