November 11, 200916 yr And perhaps GA have been sucessful because they worked hard at it after their initial boost from PSTR. Perhaps some of the artists from Pop Idol/XF that have done less well just didn''t work so hard. ....... which means the ones that have done well like Leona, Will Young, JLS etc have also worked hard and done their best with the promotional oportunities afforded them. I would suggest that CC has just shaded LL in the promotion stakes recently with her opportunity as a judge on the biggest show on UK TV..... and she has made the most of it, worked hard and that has led to her solo success. One side of the arguement will say both have had it handed to them on a plate the other side will say that they have both made the best they could of the opportunities given them.

Leona wasnt even a year old and she got spots on american idol, oprah winfrey and good morning america all on the back of simon cowell. She cracked america in days just because of mass over exposure. So all i am saying is, i can understand why it does annoy some people. Susan boyle is the same, she became famous in america in hours as an opera singer, some singers try years to do that. November 11, 200916 yr Someone on Robbie's official site who claims they have industry insiders has said JLS have overtaken Robbie now. Both acts are now over 130,000. They claim JLS will win due to their album now being slashed to £5 in many shops and their 5 different covers. Also they are touring HMV's all over the UK and at least 3,000 show up at each signing. :o I am hoping they are just trying to win dpeople up. They also said staff at The Mirror are buying JLS's album in bulk :lol: :rolleyes: They are definitely doing a promo tour of HMVs all week. So with those five different covers which some fans will buy all five of, in normal circumstances Robbie does not stand a chance of staying in front. :(
November 11, 200916 yr I still think Rob will be number 1 come the chart on Sunday. I must say, I wish people would stop harping on about JLS having five covers and their fans will buy 'all of them' - because it isn't true. They've done well to come as close to Rob as they have and this is just detracting from the massive achievement they've made. This time last year people on here were saying they'd be forgotten in a few months! I know ... I was one of them :lol: And the 'cheap' thing - they aren't the only ones - I've seen on various sites people have managed to buy Rob's album for £4.99. They've both done well to be Sunday's one and two - it is a pity people want to take the credit away from the lads. Norma

So with those five different covers which some fans will buy all five of, in normal circumstances Robbie does not stand a chance of staying in front. :( There's five different covers, at what, £10 each? So, all five are £50. I can't see many people spending £50 to buy the same thing 5 times... especially as their main fanbase is teenage girls, most of who probably can't afford to buy all 5!

November 11, 200916 yr Firstly. My mum likes BEP and believe me, she does not like chavvy music. She usually listens to abba and the beatles. They appeal to everyone and are nothing like n-dubz. Secondly, i have never had an issue with people promoting but one argument i would understand is artists like britney, girls aloud and bep have all had to prove themselves as artists first and make it big from absolute scratch before they could appear on xfactor. People like leona, alexandra and jls have had their success handed to them on a plate with highly enviable over exposure. They are the spolit brats of the music industry :kink: Didn't Girls Aloud also have their success handed to them on a plate? I mean after all, they came from a talent show not too dissimilar to X Factor. How exactly did they have to "make it big from absolute scratch"?

HMV have also confirmed this so doubt any will be planned anytime soon Would be amazing if JLS have overtaken Robbie.. dont quite believe it yet though & as for the seperate covers.. most fans I know have only bought 1 or 2 albums max.. So really doubt people would be buying the album 4/5 times :S Its a bit pointless .. and as most fans are teens doubt they will have the money to buy every slipcase etc..
