WTF??? This is a lead the Leona never has on the BEP and we've got 2 more days to increase this... AMAZING! I guess tomorrow it will be only 1-1.5K.

Looks like the Black Eyed Peas are going to take it......They have had a ludicrously great year:

Platinum-Selling Album with 3 number 1 singles.....definitely the biggest American group headed by a woman since No Doubt, or even Blondie

I think you're confused with singles. Platinum album = 300k shipped/sold, Gold = 100k, Silver = 60k.

The figures your quoted are for singles. 300.000 albums are required for Platinum.

 

Domestic shippings and sales are always very similar - what is shipped is always sold.
