If 'Earthquake' flops, then it's over for this era imo. I can't see the label doing anything else. Seeing as 'New In Town' flopped on it's arse, 'Remedy' still a big hit, but not as big as it was hoped (well for me anyway), and 'Earthquake' looking possible to miss the Top 75! Plus the fact the album has never really regained much after the flop. :(

She's lucky she's got enough hype still to do a second album.

The album does not deserve to be a flop in my opinion, there are some gems on there, I'm just surprised not many people have taken to Little Boots.

Symmetry would have made an exceptional single

Even if "I need you now" goes high top 20 (say #11 or #12) its still good for Agnes. It's a tough time of year and she's AATW which is really a small label. There still in profit as an artist with her - look at "Release me" they spent NOTHING on promo really and made loads back.
Unrelated note, has the video for Chipmunk & Talay Riley's 'Look For Me' been released? It's zooming upwards.

I saw it on some music channel yesterday, but it was the first time. His label has cancelled all promo for the forseable future since he threatened to kill himself :o

my poor munk

I think the reason little boots hasnt done so well recently is there has been a massive influx of these young British girls who are all quite talented but i think people are just bored of them now.

I heard about that

I think he is recovering though, it was just a bit of stress because of his age and such.

Why did he threaten to kill himself?

Yeah i actually agree with andy here, there are so many british females coming out now, and most of them are only average.

If you think about it how many british male artists do we have? Hardly any!

It's a shame Alesha isn't allowed to perform on Strictly anymore (the BBC said they can't be seen to be promoting her music...not that that stops Cowell promoting that thug Cheryl every week on ITV BUT I suppose that is a commercial network which is different) it would really have helped "To love again".

Are you sure about that ... I read about a month or so ago that she would be performing the song on the show.

I actually like the song now (it isn't brilliant ... but not as bad as I first thought). Even with promotion though ... I can't see it troubling the top 10.

Norma

Surprised to see Paolo still hanging around the top 20 as well...

I reckon Pencil Full Of Lead will be top5 in the coming weeks...

It's got a lot of similarities to this Xmas No1 including the video ;)

I think this too. Within a couple of months we had Little Boots, Pixie Lott and La Roux all appeared within weeks of each other, each vying for the same sort of audience and competing for recognition and to establish themselves. For the casual music fan they are a bit interchangeable. They are all in the shadow of the much more distinct Florence who has the added benefit of building up to where she is now.

I think there is room for them all, but launching at the same sort of time wasn't helpful.

Why did he threaten to kill himself?

Record labels are often quite unforgiving when it comes to young artists. For a new artist to be successful, they will usually have to work all day, everyday (including weekends) for months, with only a few days off. As a teenage solo artist, especially, it's quite a lonely experience, as often the label will only allow a guardian to travel with the act, if that. Being a recording artist is also tiring and stressful during release periods. Chipmunk certainly doesn't have it easy, but he should be thankful he isn't having to travel abroad too much as that can really send these kids crazy.

Maybe she'll finally get that top ten

I've not actually heard the song, and tbh, some of Miley's songs as HM are quite good, such as 'The Best of Both Worlds', but most are awful.

He Could Be The One is actually one of my favourite Hannah/Miley songs, clearly one of the best on the new HM3 TV Soundtrack

Next week I think that the new entry placings will be

1: X Factor Finalists

4: Rihanna

5: Jason Derulo

10: Alesha Dixon

18: Agnes.

I reckon Pencil Full Of Lead will be top5 in the coming weeks...

I HATED Candy, but I really like PFOL.

Well done, Mr Nutini, for redeeming yourself. (partly)

I am rather impressed about how Cheryls holding up. I thought she would ( after her massive iniscal sales ) that she would fall fast as like loads of the XF songs, everyone buys it straight away and when it starts to fall, it does VERY fast but if the lst pop bar update is anything to go by it looks like everyone else is falling and only her and the BEP are staying the same. May overtake JLS soon.
Sad to see Britney fall but I'm still shocked she made it to #3. Plus she's still the highest new release out of 3, INY and AAG.

The weekend effect

Looks like kesha might overtake leona. Did not see this coming atall :o

The weekend effect

The video for Rihanna is so moving and deep. If only it wasnt for the damn xfactor finalists, we'd have another amazing number 1 of 2009.

I very much doubt she will pass BEP either.

From this animation it looks like the BEP gained a lot on ANY song on ITUNES... Very very strong run for this song after 2 MEGA hits...

Yea, almost all except perhaps Cheryl and Beyonce. Weekend effect partly accounts for this, but looks like BEP are getting support from somewhere - perhap because people see it listed #1 on iTunes?

Well, I don't think that the weekend effect has really clicked the Kesha's song, it's only 1.5 weeks available. It's just Leona dropping quickly like she was doing before the weekend on Thurs and Fri.
