So as 2009 draws to a close, Joao and I thought it'd be good to do a recap of the year television wise.

This is the thread to discuss everything that happened this year.

- Your favourite show

- New shows you began watching

- Best characters/moments/quotes

- Least favourite/Most disappointing show of the year

If you have a youtube clip of your fav moments put them in your posts.

Discuss B)

This is the year i began to watch True Blood <3 I havent looked back since. Honestly mid-season 2 onwards blew me away. Its the first time i have ever bothered to stay up till 5am to watch a programme as soon as its been broadcast in the US.

Also its the year Dollhouse began, which unfortunately will end in January of 2010 :(

However the BIGGEST loss, is that of Hilarie Burton and Chad Michael Murray on One Tree Hill (More Hilarie Burton than CMM but still...). Its was a fan fave moment to see them

finally hitched with a baby and to finally see Peyton as the girl with the boy and the baby

- Your favourite show

Lost (season 5)

runners up: Torchwood: Children of the Earth, Peep Show (series 6)

- New shows you began watching

Dont think I did - fail.

- Best characters/moments/quotes

Walter Bishop in Fringe

Jack having to kill his grandson in TW, so brilliantly done -put chills in the spine.

- Least favourite/Most disappointing show of the year

Heroes season 3, I didnt bother to even start season 4.

True Blood - what a load of $h!t

FlashForward - gave up quite fast

Mhmmm... And im god.

This is surprisingly hard! I'll keep it simple and just list my favourite five shows of the year:

01 Eastenders (On a role lately. Highlights of '09 have been the Tony/Whitney reveal, Stacey's meltdown and Archie's invasion of the Mitchell clan)

02 Desperate Housewives (Season five was not the best - although at least wasn't season two - but Gaby became one of TV's most fabulous characters)

03 Medium (Nothing beat the sheer shock of Allison's illness reveal during the season finale but even without that it's always unmissable)

04 Criminal Minds (I only got into it this year - thanks JamesP! - but I've gone back and watched the whole thing. Thank god for MGG)

05 Emmerdale (I'd always thought this was granny fodder but I've now seen the error of my ways and use it as a means of terrorising my housemates)

Of course there's a ton I've forgotten or missed off but what can you do? A year is a long time...

Oh, I have to say though that True Blood is completely wonderful. I'm only watching at UK pace but it'll almost certainly top my list this time next year. Words alone cannot cover the wonder of it.

I'd have to say Supernatural was my fav show of the year. NCIS coming in second.

Started watching Dollhouse, Greek, Merlin and True Blood this year amongst other shows.

Best moment by was True Blood 2.8

Godric's death

such a great scene

Mary-Ann = AMAZING. Honestly if theres one villain from a TV Show that i will ever love, its her :(

Started watching the epic shows 'Being Human' & 'Harpers Island'!

Both my favourites of the year! Cannot wait for 'Being Human' series 2! Oh and this year was the first year I properly got into the amazing 'Two and a Half Men'

Oh and my favourite moment/scene:

I forgot Being Human! Amazing. Samantha Who as well. Such a shame it's been cancelled. :(

Loved Being Human, Harper's Island, Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, Skins and Hollyoaks. I'm sure theres others too!

Gossip Girl has probably been my favourite though I'd say.

Started watching True Blood, Flashforward, Two and a Half Men, Entourage and Harper's Island.

I watch alot of TV, but Lost blows everything out of the water, and Season 5 was no exception. This scene is definitely one of the most moving pieces of television i've ever seen.

Really enjoyed watching Harper's Island, but I hated the final episode.
