Having NI Irish connections also, I think they should be left international, as Ireland and Northern Ireland are not in Great Britain or part of the British Isles. (Northern Ireland alone is uniquely UK, but not GB)

check your passports as it clearly says

THE UNITED KINGDOM of GREAT BRITAIN "and" NORTHERN IRELAND

British Isles referring to "Isles" are Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Lundy, Flat Holm, Steep Holm, Skye and all the Scottish ones.

so Irish Charts will always refer to Eire or aka ROI

A small history/geography lesson:

The British Isles are Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales and other surrounding islands) and Ireland (as in NI and Eire).

The UK is GB and NI

Ireland (ROI) is a seperate country.

Jester, I am always really eager to have the Irish charts on Buzzjack as soon as possible so people can get discussing it! When I first joined at the start of the year, I started posting the charts without realising that it was ShakyFan who always does it. When he told me this and requested that I stopped, I did so. However, last week he was incredibly rude to me, telling me to f*** off on one occasion. With this in mind, I thought, why should I have to wait for somebody to post the charts when they spoke to me like this? I just wanted to clarify the situation, as I am being portrayed as some form of troll by Shaky Fan on this forum when the reality is quite the opposite. :)

Hmmm, ok. I think we need perhaps some mediation here to sort this out. Are you able to discuss amoungst yourselves who posts what?

Some people obviously need a geography lesson!!

I'd say the International charts forum - Ireland are not part of the UK

I think its fine in UK Chart Chat, Ireland is part of the Great Britain... right

Nope!

Regarding the geography aspect there have been people fighting about it in Northern Ireland for the last 40 years and they're not much closer to agreeing on anything!
Good one

Absolutely! What a daft poll to start with. Ben`s got time on his hands!

Not daft at all. It's shocking that some people don't seem to realise (as it has been said many times in this thread) Ireland is NOT part of the UK, therefore any 'chat' about the UK charts, ie: UK CHART CHAT, does not include any charts compiled in Ireland.

To be honest, whenever I wrongfully stumble upon the thread in question (it happens alot <_< ) I seem to walk straight into a war of words between two members of this forum, and not much else.....

Well I think everybody knows that Ireland is a completely different country (god help them if they don't :D), and I understand why some people question why the Irish charts are indeed in the UK chart chat. However, I'd have thought that the Irish charts would be of interest to people in the UK, given that music is released and promoted here at exactly the same time?
