Azealia Banks (American), The Irrepressibles (British), The Weeknd (Canadian), Serebro (Russian) and Idool 2011 Finalisten (Belgian) all made it to the Semi Finals of BJSC: The Best Of 2011.

 

Last year only Ólafur managed to get a pass into the Heat 1 of the Semifinals where he crashed and burned. The year before only the auto-qualifier Lenka got into Final where she placed 14th, which is Elëdan's record so far.

 

This year the hope is that Elëdan will at least equal the record from TBO 1 where TWO entries made the Final (Hometown Glory and the auto-qualifier Gomenasai).

EBJSCC has finally accepted the rule which now states that the same act cannot represent Elëdan in BJSC more than once. However the new rule would allow a solo member of a group to participate even if the group already represented the country before, and vice versa. Acts that changed their line-up but kept the name do not fall into that category.

 

Although not official, the new addition was always the spoken rule of Eledanese BJSC.

 

Stoffer & Maskinen, who were the most obvious choice for representing Elëdan in BJSC43 in Botanikka, hoped to return to the contest after an almost 1.5 years since they came 9th in BJSC26 with their new song. However according to the new rule, it is now impossible.

 

Stoffer & Maskinen hold Elëdan's record for most points received in a contest.

 

You.You.You, which is also a Danish band, were the next choice but due to unknown reasons have decided to drop-out from the competition.

 

It's now been confirmed that Elëdan's representative for BJSC43 in Botanikka is from Sweden. It will be the fifth time for a Swedish act to represent the country in BJSC. 3 out of 4 songs (Gaby's 'My Show', Caroline Af Ugglas' 'Snälla snälla' and The Knife's 'Variation of Birds' - they also make the 1/3rd of all Eledanese DNQs in BJSC) did not qualify while Marit Bergman's 'Bang Bang' came next to last in the Final with 26 points. It seems that Swedish artists don't do too well for us in BJSC. Let us hope the next entry will break the curse.

180. But those were the times of One Big Final, so it's approximately 120 in the 12-points voting system.

Well it would be about time! Like me with Elsiane, only three and a half years after I first considered it did I finally send it :D

So the English band Citizens! are representing Eledan this month. We'll see how our first male act since BJSC41 (and a DNQ) will do in this contest but there are more important news.

 

The artist for BJSC50 was already chosen and they might be an act that already represented Elëdan in Buzzjack Song Contest before. The EBJSCC decided to withdraw this restriction as a one-time-only thing for the 50th edition of BJSC.

 

May I also remind you that BJSC53 will be Elëdan's 50th contest so expect a lot of surprises come April (unless we're already dead by then (21/12/2012 y'all))!
