Who would buy his records though ? he would be as bigger flop as Steve Brookstein as Olly would have to do an album of cover versions of 60's to 80's songs as he has not shown at all in this series he can sing modern day stuff

He is getting the housewife vote and the granny who thinks he is cute vote and the dad who was bought up in the 60's and 70's vote but would they buy albums and singles ?

Even if he wins X Factor he would bomb after 1 mother's day album

I agree with everything you say ... and I still think he'll win it. I'm quite certain Simon wants a male winner this time (yes I know there have been male winners before ... but none that have gone on to emulate Leona's commercial success - I'm not counting Shane as we've not heard from him in years.) And despite their constant 'rowing' I'm sure Simon and Louis are in cahoots somewhere. There is definitely something nasty in this show ... and it isn't the contenders as they're only doing what any young kid with a dream would do ... they're just all being used by the puppetmaster with the big trousers!

Are you sure about that? I'm sure Leona was once in one (between her and another girl singer - mid way through the live finals). I could be wrong.

Positive, Leona was never in the bottom two.

I think that's a bit sad though, I don't know what went wrong with Shayne really. Maybe it's because he came from the days before they made an effort with the debut albums, as I think he was one of the best male contestants they've ever had. Easily better than the male favourites from this year.

It's a bit of a waste with him, I seem to remember him being a big favourite from early on with the judges and the public, but now he's vanished.

Oh Shayne  Definately the hottest X-Factor contestant at the very least :kink:

If That's OK With You was a masterpiece of a song! :(

For me he and Rhydian have been the only decent male contestants ... period! Shayne did have the potential to be great but you're right ... he's disappeared! Did you know there was talk that he was to join Take That when they returned a few years back ... as the fifth member ... but they wisely decided to stick to a foursome!

Shayne is much better than any of the male contestants this year.

It's all very fishy. Louis Walsh doesn't mention him at all now, neither does Simon Cowell. Cowell is keen to push Alexandra and Leona as the only successful X Factor winners, but Shayne has sold well over 1 million albums, and his single sales are over 1.5 million. All that on a much smaller budget than Leona and Alexandra.

i THINK Shayne has been treated unfairly, he was a great singer and has done quite well with both his albums and most of his singles, if they put as much effort into shayne that they have done will leona and alexandra shayne would still be going very strong.

I think they are still going with Shayne, and I think he'd do well again with the right material. He is certainly more popstar like than any males that remain here.

Glad to see Olly in the bottom two as I think he is unlikely to win now, Stacey and Joe are my top 2 and the only two not been bottom two. Wouldn't be surprised if Danyl or Olly managed second, as JLS did after beign bottom two, but I sincerely hope for my taste and the outcome of my bet that Joe takes the crown!

Themes this week =

Elton John & Take That

OK - if so ... I hope Stacey does

Said It All

Expect Danyl to have 'Rule The World' then.

Stacey would be good at 'Shine' I think :o

I think RTW is useless sung by a soloist (as was proven by Rachel Hylton - I'd have loved to hear JLS sing that song last year!) It has to be sung by a group ... and as J&E are gone ... I'd say don't have it in! Same really for Never Forget, BFG and Pray.

I want (sod the spoilers .... everyone knows what we're talking about).

Said It All (and I want Stacey to sing it)

Shine

Patience

Reach Out

If RTW is there ... I think only Joe can do it justice.

I bet though there'll be some old chestnuts like CIBM (Olly - surprise surprise!) and RMF (probs Danyl). I'd rather they went with songs actually written by TT though.

Ahhh I just remembered, 'A Million Love Songs' would be Danyl's choice! That is a song he can throw a note or two in...

I've just posted in the TT forum I hope no-one does AMLS - its OK but certainly not a TT classic (as you can imagine .... I'm not too fond of it).

I could quite easily see Love Ain't Here Anymore being in there ... mainly for Stacey ... as there aren't many TT songs that are suitable for a woman (I'd still love her to tackle SIA though).

Norma

Is "Love Ain't Here Anymore" the one Ruth did last year? I think Danyl would do a good job of that. (so would Stacey, but would Dannii pick it twice?) We were sorta promised he'd be moving/dancing more like his audition on the Xtra Factor on one of his songs (which he seemed excited about, almost as if he's made to do ballads week in week out) so I'm kinda hoping for something like "Relight My Fire". It'd be totally camptastic, but I think he'd be good at it.

As good as Stacey doing "Said It All" would be, I think it'd put her at risk. It's not their most well known hit so it could harm her. She could do "Patience" well, but Diana did that last year and I think Dannii is usually more creative with her choices.

If Danyl wants to do a TT song that will move him around a bit ... then he should do Hold Up A Light ... it's taken me ages to get to it ... but it is now my favourite Take That song! Give it a few listens (especially the live version) and you'll see what I mean.

Norma

Stacey would be great singing Your Song and Song For Guy would be a good choice for maybe Danyl. Taske That are a group - how can solo singers do any justice, as Norma says... it's a barmy choice of theme.

My personal hopes;

Danyl - Shine / Something About The Way You Look Tonight

Shine would allow for Danyl to get all upbeat and dancey, and also it would mean Olly NOT singing it (which I think would be all too obvious a choice).

Olly - Relight My Fire / I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

Joe - Greatest Day / The One

Simply because I LOVE The One.

Stacey - A Million Love Songs / Tiny Dancer

Lloyd - Said It All / Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

Get a shirt with their faces on it and go see them. YOU MAY EVEN TOUCH THEM. DON'T WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER IT.
