Posted November 21, 200915 yr The chart show has some delicate issues this Sunday. 1) A record that is perhaps not the 'Real Deal' namely 'D-Money featuring Rihanna - Russian Roulette' looks like it could make the Top40. How will this be introduced? Introduce it as Rihanna's new record? Will it get played? 2) Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band - this record is going to be around Top20 if the video doesn't count. Now it's the BBC that are behind Children in Need so the BBC Chart show will want to have Peter Kay on the show.....but then to explain, sorry Peter two-thirds of your sales don't count - you would of been Top10/Top5 but......O dear. A rather tricky situation.
November 21, 200915 yr I think the EP sales (All 3 tracks together) helps towards Peter Kays sales. (Like 'Islands In the Stream' only peaked at 8 on iTunes but was number 1 on iTunes albums - Hence it's number 1 in the official)

Video sales have never counted towards the charts, so why would this be any different?
November 22, 200915 yr I should think the the fake Rihanna has been removed from the chart. As for Peter's video, vidcapper is right (and he should know!) individual video sales will not count, but bundle sales (buying all tracks as an album) will :) I just hope it hasn't pushed out Agnes :(
November 22, 200915 yr About fake RR. Remember about two 'When Love Takes Over's (#7 and #22 if I remember correctly) in the chart when David Guetta was laughing like a horse at it during the chart show. Reggie introduced the fake song something like 'another version of When Love Takes Over'. November 22, 200915 yr I don't see any problems here: D-Money is about 99.5% certain to be chart-ineligible, but even if he is eligible, they can work around it. They did with Airi L - When Love Takes Over as someone here already mentioned. Yes, it's unfortunate that Peter Kay might be unfairly stripped of his #1 due to video sales being discounted... but not only will his downloads probably increase next week, he also has the CD single and the digital bundle will probably still be selling shitloads. Plus, they didn't have a problem before download sales were counted, did they?
November 22, 200915 yr Yeah I believe we found out recently these cover version songs aren't *disqualified* from the chart, rather that most of the time they haven't been registered properly with OCC in the first place. I guess this will be another one of those. I guess the CIN single will go much higher next week because the CD/DVD will be out - should be quite prominently placed in supermarkets I would imagine so should do pretty well physically. November 22, 200915 yr I'm confused.. I just listened to the "fake" Russian Roulette on iTunes - it is Rihanna isn't it? What's with that??
November 22, 200915 yr It's some kind of situation like the Kings Of Flow Shakira version - the sample is from the actual record, but they only use a part of it in the actual song...
