Janet Jackson - doesnt deserve to be on the x factor, shes not very good at all. Making money out of her brother's death, ergh.

Russian Roulette must be #1 tomorrow on itunes or later tonight.

A- Yes she DOES deserve to be on the X-Factor, she's done more than people give her credit for, for the music industry. B- She was asked to appear on Michael's behalf, as this would have been the week Simon was hoping to get Michael on for -_-

ANYWAY, On topic:

Seems like old(er - 2 or 3 weeks old) songs are climbing again, can only mean one thing :kink: The weekend is just around the corner :P

Janet Jackson, at one point, was bigger in the UK than Michael.

You only have to take a look at her discography to know that she's a musical icon.

It doesn't matter whether you think she's good or not, the fact she's been on the music scene for over 25 years proves she is.

And the fact that you're claiming she's riding her brother's death is not only stupidly skeptical, but quite sad.

Surely, if this was the case, her label would have put this album out straight away?

No being around for 25 years does not prove you are good. There are loads of artists who have been around for 25years+ and they are by no means 'good'.

The whole jackson family have made millions out of there brothers death, they werent even close for many years. I am a michael jackson/jackson 5 fan but lets not be blinded by the fact they are making money due to his death.

They probably waited because yes she was grieving and also that would have been to to obvious, also she has a slot on x factor which should help.

IMO, Janet getting a slot on the X Factor is a great opportunity to share her music to the new generation of music fans as she is a musical icon.

Oh okay  What was you talking about? :P

Umm... :kink:

Can we keep it on topic please.

Go discuss who deserves to be on X Factor in the reality forum.

I see GaGa/Beyonce is down to #16.

Susan (IDAD) down to #29.

Lily - #38

Ri (WYT) - #40

Jason Derulos lead seems to be increasing now.. Rihanna will defo be number 1 next week though after x factor

I do find it weird that something that is supposed to be all about music ... is nothing to do with music at all ... its all about who can get the best TV advertising spots! Bill Hicks .... how right you were! Damn those Advertising and Marketing men!

Sorry for going off-topic but I just find it funny. What the hell did artists do to sell their songs before X-Factor? Work harder perhaps!

It has always been like that though, it's been all about promoting your music on TV and on radios.

And anyway, the X Factor is only giving a boost to songs that would be successful even without the X.

Mariah Carey performed on it but couldn't peak higher than #11 on Itunes.

Shakira peaked low top30 even with her performance on X Factor.

Withney Houston did quite goodl but nothing immense with her song and her album.

And on the other end : Cheryl was number 1 on Itunes before performing, Rihanna and the BEP were very close to number 1 before their performance, etc.

To us it looks like the X Factor is making hits out of nothing, but that's because the X Factor only gets A List superstars and generally those acts release their song after their performance on the X, so their high charting can appear as a consequence of the performance. But it's not, as the many examples above show, the X only gives a BOOST, but doesn't make a hit out of nothing, the songs destined to be hits become hits, and the songs destined to flop flop, no matter it's performed on the X or not.

Peter Kay down to #47... surely he's gonna hold the record for the lowest Itunes position ever by the time a single gets #1 on the official chart.

Wild horses down to #6

XFF down to #9

3 words up to #34 :cheer:

How far away from #10 is Pixie Lott? Hopefully not far..

 PK down to #50.

Feck. Pixie is closer now. Probably not Top 10 in next few hours (darn weekend effect!), but defo next week. :w00t:
Pixie has GOT to overtake JLS..........

Oooh expect a sudden surge for Broken Strings, all of about one year after its release, Nelly and James are finally performing it together! :o

Nelly Furtado and James Morrison will perform together on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing.

Morrison will team up with the Canadian singer for a rendition of their hit single 'Broken Strings' on Saturday's live show.

Confirming the news on Twitter, Furtado said: "Practicing singing with James Morrison at Strictly Come Dancing, London, UK. James and I will perform 'Broken Strings' together for first time!"

Morrison has previously performed the track, which are taken from his Songs For You, Truths For Me LP, with ex-Sugababe Keisha Buchanan.

That's FANTASTIC news Nicola37!!!! :w00t: James can sing that with all the female artists in the world but you can't beat the original :D

Oooh I love 'Broken Strings' :D

How random though to bloody sing it months after it first came out with the original intended artists!

Woop, hope Lady GaGa goes #4 and Pixie Top 10 soon,

but weekend effect will be underway :P.
