Beyonce was a somewhat surprising #1, given that it had entered at #2 and then fallen to #3 before climbing to #1. It sold less at #1 than The Killers had done at #4 the previous week.

Beyonce (who had the #1 single) also had the #10 album, and Leona Lewis (who had the #10 single) also had the #1 album (the re-packaged version of Spirit). N-Dubz also had a new entry in the album chart this week last year, and both N-Dubz and Leona Lewis also have new entries in this week’s album chart.

#21 was originally #7 in 1976 (it re-charted due to its use in an advert).

#28 and #54 were both due to Leona Lewis’ cover of Run on X-Factor (this version would itself make #1 in a couple of weeks’ time).

The only 2 new entries to the top 40 provided a bit of contrast – both of the artists’ previous hits had peaked at #22, but N-Dubz had been in the top 40 only the previous month (with Ouch), whereas Christian Falk had not charted for over 8 years.

This was apparently the first time ever that #39 and #40 were both 1-place fallers.

#43 was Craig David’s 2nd new entry in as many weeks – Insomnia (which featured a relatively-unknown Tinchy Stryder) had entered at #58 one week earlier.

#46 would return to the top 40 at #27 the following week.

That Killers track is probably in my top five of the DECADE - amazing track!

I also didn't realise both Kings of Leon tracks were there that early. I actually remember hating Sex on Fire when it came out, I just found it really generic and dull, but I've warmed to it a bit since. Same with 'Poker Face'.

Also weird to see the Snow Patrol version of Run go back into the charts, but before the Leona cover was officially released!

Snow Patrol's climb was due to Leona having performed Run on The X Factor, Leona's version only being available on her physical album at this stage.
Chinese Democracy - what a $h!t comeback :puke:

"This was apparently the first time ever that #39 and #40 were both 1-place fallers."

That's a very interesting fact!

Earlier this year, 38, 39 and 40 were all 1 place CLIMBERS - James Morrison's Broken Strings 39-38, KOL's Sex On Fire 40-39 and The Prodigy's Omen 41-40.

That is a nice fact there Bray :D
