What's him liking Diana Vickers got ANYTHING to do with this? (I LOVE/ADORE both acts btw!)

I was thinking the same thing actually Jonjo...what's wrong with this forum these days, so much 'well you like this act so your opinion can't possibly be valid'

What happened to being allowed to have your own opinion? -_-

What I meant was they're similar artists who have similar vocal styles - Ellie/Diana and Marina are polar opposites

I WAS NOT criticising his opinions or what he likes... Jeez <_<

And? Your point is? People can "loon" over who they wish. Darius Danesh has loons FCOL! LOL Everyone's entitled to be a fan of whoever they wish.

EDIT: Obviously not aimed at Gooddelta :P

It was an observation. Nothing to do with the convo at the hand, just something I noticed. Of course Doug Vickers can be a fan of whoever he likes, but I'm perfectly entitled to say it's odd that he is a fan of an act with such a small back catalogue.

And Darius has a couple of studio albums, by the way, not just one single, so hardly the same thing.

I think you need to calm down tbh. Don't know what relation Doug Vickers is to you but I didn't mean to offend you/him.

^apologies if my reaction was a bit OTT, I'd just come from the Chart Chat forum which is full of 'Will Young has had more flops than Leona so he must be worse blah blah blah...' nonsense, and I vented it in here

Sorry if I took/read it the wrong way, it just irritates me when people get put down for the artists that they listen to - in any way shape or form. I mean I personally like Ellie, Diana and Marina's voices though so it is possible to like all three. I can see why all are an acquired taste/have their haters though.

I didn't mean/intend it to come across as rude BTW :P (It's not me) but when he said "well you do like Diana Vickers " was completely off-topic and basically attacking him, just coz he has a signature of Diana Vickers... So I asked him why he needed to do that and that I thought it was uneccessary of him to do so (which he's now answered).

You thinking Diana Vickers is an "odd act to loon over" is a bit odd in itself really, but that's your opinion, just as it's his choice as to whether he wants to be a fan of Diana. Afterall she was on the biggest talent show, probably ever so has gained her fans through that, it's no different to people being fans of/loons/whatever people call it nowadays of acts like JLS, Alexandra burke, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle etc... (But yeah Darius was on a contest too, so maybe he wasn't the best example to choose :heehee:)

No hard feelings and I apologise, that my posts may have seemed a bit "in your face" or whatever, I honestly didn't mean it like that. No hard feelings, yeah? :D

It was meant to come across jokingly. Although I do think it's odd, its meaning was more like how a friend [although I don't know Doug Vickers] would make fun of their friend's record collection etc. Obviously my lack of smilies/emoticons made my meaning unclear.

Anyway, yeah, back to Marina's album. Woo. :o

Just bought. Not as phenomenal as it was made out to be - but definetly in love with some songs.

SHAMPAIN. The first song I loved of hers, and the song I love most of hers - it was the demo I heard previously through BJSC - but this album version is absolutely superb, and is definetly the track that will be on repeat.

Official lyrixx according to the CD handbook:

"Air hostesses doing gossip magazine crosswords

On a flight to old L.A."

Make of that what you will ?!

I know, I found that bare weird as well ;o

Shampain remains my official Friday dusk-time anthem.

Sorry for the controversial comment. I was simply thinking because he likes Diana Vickers, he is bound to like (from the other thread) Ellie's album better than Marina's. I mean, Diana and Ellie wrote a song together, any more proof needed?

Anyway, back on to the album, will be getting it this weekend

Also, does anyone have a link/stream to the song 'The Family Jewels'? It's an iTunes exclusive, and have only heard the 30 second preview...

 I absolutely ADORE 'I Am Not a Robot', but surely it's time to release something like 'Oh No!' or 'Are You Satisfied?'? I mean they are the most mainstream songs she's got
Why is she re-releasing it? :( Are You Satisfied should have done better. :(
The album version of Hollywood is a bit $h!t it has to be said, was there any need for that JFK line?

The lyrics booklet is bull$h!t.

It actually says

"on a flight to J.F.K." (as in the airport in New York. :P)

Oh wow  'I Am Not A Robot' is stunning! It deserves a full release imo. But 'Are You Satisfied?' is surely the biggest "hit single in the making" on the album?
was shocked to hear the album version of hollywood being different to the single version.album okay after 1 listen nothing outstanding - the faster songs are more instant.ill have to learn it off for going to see her in May
I Am Not A Robot is the best choice for a single. There's nothing as single-sounding as that on the album. Are You Satisfied is great but it's too much of a grower and that's not what Marina needs right now.
great album. i love it, Numb and Oh No! are my faves.

It was the only track I remembered after the first listen (aside from those I'd heard already) - I loved it instantly. I Am Not A Robot on the other hand has never been one of my favourites :( It shows diversity but I can't imagine it being a huge smash hit, maybe low top 40. Re-releases of buzz singles rarely if ever do well for some reason.
