December 16, 200915 yr v2AYUqVNSsY LOL  don't remember last time when I was actually peeing myself so much watching something... Edited December 16, 200915 yr by wczorajdzonson
December 16, 200915 yr Author Calm down, all I did was state my opinion. And I know exactly what I am talking about, thank you very much. For the record I didnt "label RATM as 'AWFUL' just because it is opposing a song I like and because it isnt a pop song", do you know my music taste? No. Who said I only like pop music? Because I certainly didn't. It just pisses off how people automatically get looked down and get branded as "Cowell bummers" on here if they like an X Factor related song. Its like people expect you to be against it. This is a forum at the end of the day, you can't tell people their opinons are wrong. EDIT: Also, people are saying downloading RATM is good because its going to Shelter? Yet when theres an X Factor single for charity, it gets looked down on? Yeah, okay. You do like pop music though dont you, is your surname Aloud? or are you just another Girls Aloud loon? you are quite obviously biased towards the song because it is rock. For the record I didnt "brand you as a Cowell Bummer". I dont think anyone has said a charity single for X Factor and looked down on it in this thread. In the end i'm a big supporter of Shelter, and i'm sure TXF song had plenty going right to Cowell. RATM are getting nothing from this battle. Rage Against The Machine star urges fans to ruin Joe McElderry's Christmas http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandra...-Christmas.html What a twisted article, where has Tom Morello said he wants to RUIN Joe's CHRISTMAS. In the end what Tom has tweeted, is no where near as bad as what Cowell said at that press conference. TBH it looks a bit like he just wants a Christmas number 1. By not downloading Rage and by downloading Joe, you are ruining Tom Morello's chance for a christmas number 1. And he hast worked hard for it, much longer than Joe who can't write a song. I feel sad for Joe :( He has done his best for weeks and now some inhuman and unfair campaign could keep him away from the top spot :( Shouldn't the OCC disqualify the RATM track? What Suedehead said. And please explain how the hell it is inhuman? what giving money to homeless people so they dont spend Christmas outside is inhuman? or have people been going past human rights to get RATM to number 1? inhuman? inhuman? I think you have taken it too far, RATM are people who battle for human rights. And how is it unfair? what so by winning the x factor he then has the right to have the top spot? what a load of bollocks. You are as bad as Cowell Bert. No one owns the number 1 spot, Not Simon Cowell, Not Rage Against The Machine. The whole point of the campaign is to show that Cowell doesnt own the number 1 by using a really uncommercial track from 17 years ago. Some of the posts in this thread make me weep for humanity. I know what you mean, even if some our mine.
December 16, 200915 yr I don't think Cowell is necessarily ignorant. He just assumes that most of the audience are. That's worse. As for Cowell ... have you ever seen him and Dale Winton in the same place at the same time? And Rich ... if all goes according to the Dark Lord's plan ..... Bowie will be on the next series of X-F!  Norma
December 16, 200915 yr Author Simon Cowell: 'Ive done you a favour killing the christmas number 1' Simon Cowell has said that he has done the UK public a "favour" having "killed" the Christmas Number One race. The X Factor mogul has seen the last four winners of the show bag the festive top spot, while this year's winner Joe McElderry is favourite to top it this year despite competition from Rage Against The Machine. Speaking in the Christmas issue of NME, out tomorrow (December 16), Cowell said that he had helped rescue the Christmas Number One from a tradition of "horrible" songs. When asked if it was a shame that The X Factor had "killed the race for Christmas Number One" he replied: "Yes and no. I think we were getting to a point where it was all becoming like 'The Millennium Prayer' [Cliff Richard's 1999 song that was knocked from the Christmas Number One slot by Westlife]and I just didn't like that song. "I think we all have this belief that the Christmas Number One was just amazing songs… but actually when you look at them over recent years it was Bob The Builder, Mr Blobby… there's a tradition of quite horrible songs. I think I've done everyone a favour." Rage Against The Machine are currently ahead of McElderry in the race with 'Killing In The Name', although the reality show winner's single is not released physically until tomorrow (December 16). For the full interview with Cowell get the new issue of NME, out tomorrow. http://www.nme.com/news/joe-mcelderry/48880 What a cock.
December 16, 200915 yr I don't like X Factor, or shows like it, and I don't watch them. However, I think the attempt to get RATM to number 1 is just as 'manufactured' as anything that Simon Cowell as attempted over the years. He's probably more pissed he didn't think of it himself! Instead of contributing to the success of 'over-hyped', 'manufactured', circus events like XFactor vs RATM, I choose to support neither. That's the only way I can be sure I am not putting money in the pockets of the people that really benefit from all of this hysteria - Cowell & Sony (or some other mega rich corporation).

December 16, 200915 yr Great vid itunes update: RATM have now overtaken Joe, In fact, they are miles ahead on popularity
December 16, 200915 yr Tom Morello has said in an interview with BBC 6Music that some of the proceeds will now be given to a charity which helps children who want a career in music. Presumably this is partly due to the song raising far more money than most people expected. From BBC News The guitarist said the single's position as a Christmas number one contender was an "unexpected windfall" and he plans to donate some of the proceeds to a charity which helps children progress their musical careers in the UK. "My hope is that one of the results of this whole Christmas season is there'll be a new generation of rockers who will take on the establishment with the music they write."
December 16, 200915 yr I couldn't have said it better! Thanks! so why on earth have you got a joe youtube video as your sig, how is that not supporting ''over-hyped', 'manufactured', circus events like XFactor vs RATM'
December 16, 200915 yr Something I read on the Internet, and I would agree with this point of view : I think this campaign against his song is ridiculous. The #1 spot is for the most popular song in the country that week. If RATM are #1, its not because their more popular. It's because of a concerted effort, to distort what is most popular. Thats why i don't understand this campaign. It's just sad really to rain on someones parade, just to p!ss Simon Cowell off. Why bother paying 79p to download a track no one actually wants to buy? Just to subvert the chart system. Which is merely a gage of what the public want to buy. Do people honestly think Cowell will give a sh!t? Is he honestly gonna say "WOW" RATM is what real music should sound like!..I might scrap the X Factor.
December 16, 200915 yr Just bought mine on amazon, how many more times can i download it before it won't count?
December 16, 200915 yr Just bought mine on amazon, how many more times can i download it before it won't count? I think u can download it twice by Friday. Not 100% sure.
December 16, 200915 yr See, thing is, I don't believe that The Climb is a genuinely popular song - for some reason people see the CD single as "the badge" that you were with Joe for the long haul. I suspect every year there are hundreds of thousands of these singles bought or downloaded and never listened to more than once. Of course, it's worse that people are downloading KITN with NO intention to listen to it. Both are wrong really.

Completely missing the point - Joe will likely still get the #1 the week after, it's the fact the Cowell has RUINED the battle for Christmas #1 that is the basis for this campaign. Isn't this battle much more exciting than Joe being #1 by miles in the midweeks with zero competition? No? Well why do you frequent this site then?
