I loved If You Come To Me. It was second favourite of theirs after The Last Goodbye.

Speaking of Atomic Kitten, would you like another pointless piece of Aled info that will probably annoy the person who DNQ'ued? In the early stages, it looked like Atomic Kitten would actually qualify with ease.

I'm sorry but I hate Ladies Night, so cringeworthy. Their cover of Eternal Flame was fine, but comparing it with the original makes it sound so lacking in every level.

My top5 would be: It's Ok, Last Goodbye, You Are, Whole Again, If You Come To Me.

:P

Not again :snif:

Kylienips, deandria, Greenfroze too :(

pleasently surprised for New Rivermaya :D

:o  Thanks for the 12 points Xy
Looking at some of the tracks that went through from my semi, some of them are very poor.

I agree, I don't know why it topped my chart to be honest  don't agree with the second point though, I don't like Susanna Hoffs voice that much so was never a massive fan of the original - I know I'm just about the only person on here who would rank AK's version above the Bangles version though :heehee:

my top 5 would be: Eternal Flame, Love Doesn't Have To Hurt, You Are, Cradle, It's OK although I loved everything they released to be honest (apart from If You Come To Me) :arrr:

Although I liked it, Whole Again was ridiculously overrated, how it came to nearly be a million seller, and be the song that completely turned their career around I'll just never know! I thought it was going to enter at #17 and that was the end of Atomic Kitten, so to see it enter at #1 was a huge shock to say the least!

:cheer:

Last qualifier, I had already given up all hope.

Those songs I voted for, didn't get through:

12 Palmyra Maria Mena – All This Time

08 Brokeback Mountain Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles

04 Ojnoj Sarah Blasko – We Won't Run

Whole Again is just a catchy song, and it came out at the right time. Was a big hit here. But then so was The Tide Is High which i HATE. Be With You and Love Doesnt Have To Hurt I didnt like either. See, I love some, hate others :P
:o  Thanks for the 12 points Xy

So you're Palmyra! I'm sorry, i'm still crap at knowing who's who :P

You're welcome, and I'm gutted you missed out :( Along with me of course, but I'm used to failure :P :(

No that one wouldn't annoy me.

catchy and simple, but so was Follow Me so how come that could only reach #20 a few months before? I love all three of those songs that you hate  they are seriously one of my favourite groups ever!

Thanks everyone who voted for Tata but I think I was in the wrong semi :( plus Asian pop isn't a favourite here. I'm off to seek my next enrty :kink: oh and congrats to the qualifiers :)

I dont think Follow Me is as catchy. Plus "Whole Again" is a sad ballad, which appeals a lot more to the average pop fan, rather than midtempo cheery pop stuff. I also think Whole Again sounds more mature.

And here we are having our totally random convo, again!

I guess so, there was nothing sadder than hearing the group wailing 'this is our last shot - if Whole Again isn't a hit then we're finished' nothing like a sob story to appeal to the UK public :heehee:

the fun is that you never know where these random conversations will pop up! sorry to everyone else for going completely :offtopic: in the BJSC forum

Ooh, I made it, right after I went to watch TV. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.

A few of the DNQs shocked me. I thought my 12 pointer (which I can add to my LONG list of semi 12s that DNQ'd), "Dirty Picture", would end up as one of the favourites. Not to mention I'd tipped Ashton to get their first win early on. (not that I ended up voting for it) I also expected Greenfroze to make it easily, I prefer it to the other Donkeyboy song.

In the other semi I'm gutted about Vanessa (one of the best songs of the decade), Xyland (good song!) and thought Sangria/Palmyra sounded like easy qualifiers. :o

Ok, let's stop this now, before someone changes the title to Atomic Kitten / Discuss Your Favorite Songs

done

SHOCKED that Feed Me To The Boys didn't qualify :o I did have a horrific feeling that Donkeyboy would miss out too, much as I like it it's nowhere near as good as the spectacular Ambitions :(

The songs I gave points to that didn't make it

Espen - 10

Lotopialand - 6

Ashton - 5

Greenfroze - 4

Deandria - 1

Plus Dalisska not making it and Vanessa Carlton and Maria Mena not making it in the other semi

a very sad day for Dalisska :nocheer:

I don't think I'll have very fond memories of BJSC XXII at all, it'll be like the drunkard relative that alway's comes over to embarrass you in front of your friends
