December 13, 200915 yr The Grinch reminds me of my dad's fat ex whore Kelsey. It's that pot belly and grin that do it. r
December 13, 200915 yr I think it's fairly apparent that the 2 that are left both have about as much 'XFactor' as a bag of crisps - Olly is a swivelly-hipped nonentity and Joe will do well in a crowd scene in a Lloyd Webber stage musical after his very stunted musical career - nice voice, no charisma, style and certainly no XFactor - and when's he going to come out of the closet? Stacey wasn't much better and her disastrous performances last night showed she's unreliable as a performer. Plus she reminds me of Princess Anne. I think Cowell desperately needs to go back to the drawing board as it's plainly obvious his 2 best hopes of a cash cow this year, Rachel and Lucy (whose 'My Funny Valentine' was furlongs ahead of any other performance this series but went above Cowell's head - no surprise there), both got kicked out waaaay too early and he's left with a pretty drab, boring and nondescript 2 for the final.
December 14, 200915 yr Author oh dear ... much as i expected, too many missing the point totally... 'dont watch it then'... I DONT, the point is that you cant get away from it, its there, filling the charts and idiots heads with total DRIVEL. these finalists have the charisma of a dead hedgehog and are totally devoid of personality or individuality.. from the start they all conform to the earnest facial expression and vocal gymnastics that everyone seems to believe is 'the right way' .... have the great british muisc buying public REALLY stooped to accepting this drivel as 'the norm'?... come next august it will all start again... with air headed wannabes who 'need this so much' yet all they will do is coform to the established model.. December 14, 200915 yr it is only TV and if you don't like it, don't watch it! That stupid comment is really unworthy of you mate, you're much smarter than that, or has someone been hacking your account....? I'm pretty sure that you're smart enough to see that Rob is objecting to FAR more than just a TV show... If only it WAS "just a TV show"... It's not, X-Factor comes with a huge package that goes way beyond it "just being TV show"... Of course, this is what Cowell and Co want you to think, "hey, it's all just harmless fun, it's entertainment, nothing more"... Like Hell it is.... There is a very nasty, Capitalistic streak to it that is undeniable... The "winners" of this farce are basically Cowell and Walsh's bitches for their entire recording career... Check out the massive 250-page fukkin CONtract they have to sign, and haven't you been noticing the blatant CHEATING that's been going on for the past two or three year... FFS Jester, come ON..... "Just a TV show"???? Bollocks, you either have no idea what all this represents or you just dont care, well fair enough, be like a sheep, fall for Cowell's brand of Snake Oil, but some of us want to be like Wolves and run free and love music for the ART that it is.... -_-

December 14, 200915 yr Top be honest Simon Cowell is killing my enthusiasm for popular music; and looking at the large number of idiots on this site my enthusiasm for posting on Buzzjack.
December 14, 200915 yr Top be honest Simon Cowell is killing my enthusiasm for popular music; Actually Pete Waterman pretty much did that for me in the 80s tbh mate... Cowell and Walsh are just raping the corpse of my enthusiasm.....
December 14, 200915 yr Actually Pete Waterman pretty much did that for me in the 80s tbh mate... True, but Pete Waterman (& the likes of Bros, Tiffany, London Boys, Milli Vanilli, etc) actually did me a huge favour because that was when I really got heavily into older music and independent non chart music via the John Peel show.

December 14, 200915 yr Top be honest Simon Cowell is killing my enthusiasm for popular music; and looking at the large number of idiots on this site my enthusiasm for posting on Buzzjack. Don't go though! You, Mush, Grim and about a dozen others here bring a sense of .... sense! And about the 'don't watch it' comment (from many) you can't escape it. It even makes the news, the papers and you can't even switch on your computer without some aspect of X-Factor infesting it! You have people talking about it at work, on the bus, everybloodywhere! December 14, 200915 yr You know what, X Factor is fiiiiiine, very nice manipulative little show. Just schedule that no.1 to come in May please, not in Xmas week.

Bollocks, you either have no idea what all this represents or you just dont care, well fair enough, be like a sheep, fall for Cowell's brand of Snake Oil, but some of us want to be like Wolves and run free and love music for the ART that it is.... -_- Yes, I am aware of how manipulative Cowell is and can very very clearly see it - but the music and TV industry are capitalist and about making money. Cowell happens to be very good at doing so and taps into what the public want (quality or in this case clearly not!) I am not defending him, I despise the man. He ruined pop music in the 90s for me - I will never forgive Robson and Jerome taking the #1 from Pulp's Common People and again taking it from Oasis' Wonderwall and have not forgot this. But, my point is, the X Factor is enjoyed by many and at the end of the day they are not sadly forced to watch it. hence my point that is just a TV show - it can be turned over! I guess I am just resigned to losing the Xmas number 1 to X Factor every year now and am a bit more chilled about the whole thing.
December 14, 200915 yr It will end sometime soon people are just beginning to get really sick of it. What particularly bothered me this year was the constant coverage of Jedward. On the news more specifically, how exactly is Jedward a news item. Then the media building them up to be popular when infact it was revealed yesterday that they never once received more than 10% of the vote in any show. The show is a complete fix also. I have heard from various sources who know someone that went to one of the judges houses and were specifically told 'A woman is not going to win this year it is all about the men, come back next year'. We don't pick the winner, the winner is selected beforehand and the judges drive that selection to the public with their comments, and the public are stupid enough to fall for it. Joe was a no mark until week 7, Simon begins to give him praise and he then wins every vote. As much as everyone slags off Americans at least they are not as stupid as us when it comes to this. Simon has no control over the American media and they pick their own winner. A single is then released and it never performs well, they have to prove themselves on the album, it should be like that here.

Thing is though mate, like Big Brother, even when you DONT watch it you cant really escape it, It's all over the media, in general conversations, they even show it in a lot of pubs now... Sorry, but it DOES feel like an incredibly intrusive, pervasive influence.. And also, when you say to people at work or whatever, "no, sorry, I dont watch it", they look at you funny.... Like YOU'RE THE FREAK for actually having a bloody mind of your own..... <_< When it gets to that level, well, you just have to say that it's little better than brainwashing, Goebbels or Stalin style....
December 14, 200915 yr I love X-Factor and so do many of millions of others. Someone on another forum says it's "easily the highlight of my life from August to December" I'm not THAT big a fan. If you don't like it watch something else but stop whingeing about it! The viewing figures speak for themselves, higher than Corrie the last few weeks! No-one forces any contestant to go on it either and look how many applied this year, 200,000!! I'm a fan but actually like Britain's Got Factor even more as you have variety there. Edited December 14, 200915 yr by Crazy Chris-Tmas

December 14, 200915 yr The don't watch it if you don't like it argument is pathetic. You can't escape it try a new one.

December 14, 200915 yr The don't watch it if you don't like it argument is pathetic. You can't escape it try a new one. I'm sorry, but you cannot escape it as it is all over the media. Even the BBC News on Sunday night had it as their second news item FFS. If I was to use your argument then I should just ignore 9/11; the War/occupation of Iraq/Afghanistan; MPs fiddling their finances; the fat cat bankers pay; the worst global recession of the last 60 years because I do not like it ......
December 14, 200915 yr dont worry guys, Jester said on MSN yesterday he would buy KITN  and mushymanrob stop posting things I agree with, it doesnt feel right.
