i think the fact that royals / am i wrong / stolen dance ALL suffered this fate shows that most people only like it cos its hammered into their brain, cos they didn't like it at the time but suddenly its amazing. the power of a chart push. says quite a lot about the power of radio / hype really! i personally find them all terrible, always have and will. in cases where it's been pushed and i've ended up loving it, i've loved it in bjsc too... i don't get the whole 'i suddenly rly like it because its gonna be successful'

I don't think it's simply a case of "i like it now coz its popular", it's just that when a song gets hype it gives you more reason to re-listen to it and after many listens it grows on you. I didn't give Royals/Stolen Dance much of a chance in the contest as there were songs in the contest that I preferred to them, but once they got the chance to grow on me I got into them. As for Am I Wrong, I did give that points to begin with (7 in the semi and 1 in the final iirc) so it's just a case of rediscovering it.

Royals was really the main case of me getting into a song after it starting to become more popular, around last summer~

 

whereas my opinion on the likes of Jubel, Changes, Am I Wrong etc. hasn't really changed since the respective contests, as I always liked those to begin with (my thoughts on Stolen Dance haven't changed either really, thought it as okay/decent originally)
