I think I might just go buy the live version of KITN.
Does anyone think that people are now buying RATM as they have heard it and liked it. I know that is the case with me I had no itentions of buying it until I heard it.

And can I bring this to your attention now regarding next weeks mid updates, information will be very thin on the ground, plus we might only have updates for Tuesday & Wednesday, obviously Christmas Eve falls on a Thursday, so offices could be closed after midday, I don't think there will be anything after Wednesday to be honest. Normal services should resume 4/5th Jan 2010.

Just like to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this week's thread topic, in the end having 3 separate mid topics worked very well, and easier for the chart mod team to moderate. Have a nice weekend and hopefully its not too white for some.

It is odd that it is the kids and their strange taste in music that has dominated the charts but what future career can Joe really carve out if his dowload sales are already so low.I do not think he has much appeal in his age range just the over 60's and under 10's. Rage can still do it and wipe that smug grin off Dark Lord Cowell's face.

I think he could do well if they don't try and market him as a one man Westlife. Sadly with Cowell at the helm that'll be it

Besides, there is so much support for Joe from loads of people I know, even those that dislike the X Factor. They all either just don't want the reign at Xmas #1 to continue or find 'The Climb' to be vile. I can see where they're coming on both counts tbh  I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't 29p.

oooh that's excellent nice write up, you should do a 2009 music review for the front page  just kidding. :P

thanks Martin :cheer: I'm thinking of posting the link on the wall of the Rage Facebook group to inspire them :kink:

Where's Alexandra Burke's Broken Heels in top 40. It currently number 12 on iTunes.

Not a sausage :P

things are getting really tough for the RAGE campaign, so much negative press against them building up now all simon cowell PR lead. the simon cowell machine is just too strong he has got statements released by alexandra, cheryl and himself all attacking the chart battle. he even lays into the BBC about talking/playing the track and has the nerve to pull out the bullying card too. joe may get sympathy buyers now. the man is so manipulative and controlling! its incredible to see how his PR works in order to get his way. its his absolute divine right to get xmas #1 and no one else is allowed to go for it.

the cold weather may help RAGE a bit on saturday but they need a massive final monster boost on that day by downloaders.

If everyone who signed up to the Facebook group actually downloaded the track then it wouldn't matter what Cowell did - RATM would easily be No.1 on Sunday.

Rubbish. A quick check of the facebook members at random shows about half of them don't live in the UK. So if they download it it won't count.

Are Glee Cast in the chart....?
I think Joe will get a surge of late sales

:(

saturday will be huge, a mad rush of late christmas shoppers like me!

well that changes things i thought they were all british!

It doesn't matter who has the Christmas No.1. I hate 'The Climb', but, even

if it isn't No.1 on Sunday 20th, it will be there on Sunday 27th. It will get to

No.1 come-what-may. The RATM 'Single' would only be able to be No.1 for

1 Week. The 'Campaign' for it will die out - fast - once it is either No.1 or No.2

on Sunday - 20th. If it is No.1 on Sunday, the 'Campaigners' will no longer

see a reason to buy it. If it is No.2 on Sunday, then the 'Campaigners' will

feel that RATM has failed, & will see no point in carrying on buying it.

I think the whole thing is pointless - 'The Climb' will get to No.1 in the end,

anyhow - and RATM will drop like a stone.

That's just how it is. So all the fuss about a 'Chart Battle' is pointless.....

It just gives the Tabloids a daily 'Story'. Cheryl Cole goes on as if Joe will

be 'cheated' out of a No.1, if he isn't No.1 for Christmas. That is tripe -

his Single WILL get to No.1 - the only question is if it is the CHRISTMAS No.1.
