December 26, 200915 yr God, this album is so amazing! You could think you've heard loads of such bands but this one is definitely outstanding, at least with this very album.
December 26, 200915 yr I've heard Doubt and Counterpoint and I do like them. It's direction that Klaxons could have gone in after Golden Scans.
December 30, 200915 yr Been going through somewhat of a dry-spell, music wise but this has cured it. Excellent album :)
January 7, 201015 yr I've downloaded this, need to find time to listen to it. I decided to listen to all of my top 100 albums of the decade and have not had chance to listen to anything new yet, I've got this huge list of albums building up...
January 7, 201015 yr I've come to the conclusion that Acolyte (the song) is actually stunninggg Finally! -_- It's the best on the album by far! And i love other songs like crazy as well!
January 7, 201015 yr Finally! -_- It's the best on the album by far! And i love other songs like crazy as well! Yeah such a great album! Can't decide between this and 'Contra' as my favourite album of '10 so far, but I think this just edges it. <3
January 7, 201015 yr Yeah such a great album! Can't decide between this and 'Contra' as my favourite album of '10 so far, but I think this just edges it. <3 Add Owen Pallett and it's gonna be a three way tie for me <3 I thought you liked Animal much too Cremey :o
January 7, 201015 yr Add Owen Pallett and it's gonna be a three way tie for me <3 I thought you liked Animal much too Cremey :o I'm downloading 'Heartland' as I write this. Hopefully it's as epic as you and Ben have said it is... And I do like Animal a lot, but I prefer 'Acolyte' and 'Contra'. Delphic remind me of our beloved Bloc in some parts soo, which can only be a good thing, yes? <3
January 7, 201015 yr Good comparison! Actually i see it! :o That's why i love this album so much :heehee:
January 7, 201015 yr Both Delphic and Bloc Party have the same producer as far as i'm aware (or has been used at some point for Bloc Party) so that's why their sound is a little similar. The only song I can really draw Bloc Party comparisons with is 'Counterpoint'
January 8, 201015 yr Jack Knife Lee? Vocal samples at the start of Doubt reminds me of similar at the start of Hunting for Witches. Also some of the guitar fills later in Doubt remind me of some of the plaintive clean guitar of many of Bloc Party's later songs. Counterpoint does sound like So Here We Are sped up a bit.
January 8, 201015 yr Delphic are a more bearable (sp?) version of Bloc Party imo. I still need to download this album, but I've heard 'Doubt' once or twice before and I quite liked it actually.
January 8, 201015 yr The ending of 'Counterpoint' reminds me of the ending in 'This Modern Love' quite a bit. Also, the instrumental of 'Clarion Call' has a lot of similarities to Bloc Party instrumentals.
