December 27, 200915 yr Hmm.. I do like that song but the band have so many better songs. Can someone post the others?
December 27, 200915 yr Set the Fire to the Third Bar is an outstanding duet with Martha Wainright. Ravishing and beautiful. It was the follow up single to C***** C*** Sadly it didn't sell as well.
December 27, 200915 yr I don't think any one song can be described as 'song of the decade' there are too many to choose from and no one would ever agree. I think people stating what are their ten best songs of the decade would give a better perception.

December 29, 200915 yr Such a rubbish list! How could they not even include 'Umbrella', although it's not my favourite track, it's definitely one of the best mainstream pop songs of the noughties.
December 29, 200915 yr Such a rubbish list! How could they not even include 'Umbrella', although it's not my favourite track, it's definitely one of the best mainstream pop songs of the noughties. Exactly what i was thinking although it used to be my fave track of all time   I understand why the likes of Crazy and Chasing Cars is on there but what makes Mercy, Rehab, Killers, Coldplay so special. The list is laughable as a whole. Umbrella is the #1 in my eyes.
December 29, 200915 yr Here's the list if it's not up already 19. Ruby- Kaiser Chiefs 17. Viva La Vida- Coldplay 16. Take Me Out- Franz Ferdinand Such a rubbish list! How could they not even include 'Umbrella', although it's not my favourite track, it's definitely one of the best mainstream pop songs of the noughties.LOL! I understand majority of the list, but what I don't get are those three I included above. ESPECIALLY 'Ruby'??! More decade defining than 'Bleeding Love' or 'Umbrella'? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Franz I sorta understand but I still wouldn't say it's decade defining. And Coldplay have one or two better tracks that are more worthy of a placing on this list ('Yellow' & 'The Scientist' IMO)
December 29, 200915 yr I don't see how anyone can dispute the inclusions of the top two. The list is most POPULAR songs of the decade, not BEST. There is no way that 'Mr Brightside' and 'Chasing Cars' don't feature in the top 10 most popular of the decade!
December 29, 200915 yr I think that's a pretty decent list. Glad that TT had two songs (although personally - I think the positions of their two songs should be switched). On a personal note ... I would have preferred the Monkeys song to be number 1 but can't really fault Snow Patrol ... its a great song. Norma
December 29, 200915 yr How could that Arctic Monkeys song be the second most popular song of teh dacade? I never heard it. And I think that The Killers had much more popular songs (Human, Somebody Told Me...) Edited December 29, 200915 yr by SoManyOstriches
December 30, 200915 yr franz ferdinand should def be there - they began the comeback of brit popII!!VERY MEMORABLE AND A MASSIVE POPULAR IMPACT!!
December 30, 200915 yr How could that Arctic Monkeys song be the second most popular song of teh dacade? I never heard it. And I think that The Killers had much more popular songs (Human, Somebody Told Me...) The Arctic Monkeys song was massive, and Mr Brightside was certainly up there.
December 30, 200915 yr Its cos this is a mixture of a yougov poll and critics, that means they've got rid of any songs that would be too 'pop' I prefer Somebody Told me to Mr Brightside but Mr Brightside is the 'critics' fav I can;t stand the arctic monkeys but that was their one decent song
December 30, 200915 yr Snow Patrol... wtf! - how depressing is that DITTODITTODITTO :( Worst song ever tbh.
December 30, 200915 yr I agree unbrella is the most obvious omission and i would've had the gossip in there i thought that song was huge for months but it just goes to show it all depends who you ask to vote in your poll!
