I just hate them. They are going to be the male version of Sugababes. JLS is now a brand and anyone of them is easily replaceable. I saw a girl wearing a JLS hoodie and i felt obliged to burn it.

Hate is way too strong a word (I save that for the Simon Cowell's of music) .... more apathetic .....

But apart from the fact they seem to be on TV all the time like other X-Factor related acts; their album cover gimmick to just bag the number album one spot ahead of a much better Robbie Williams album; it is their music ... it is a long way from being terrible .... it is just so conveyor belt heard it all before generic.

British r'n'b boybands: Damage; Another Level; Blue ...... and now JLS.

Damage - Still Be Lovin' You

Another Level - Be Alone No More

Blue - One Love

I think they are a third rate Blue or Another Level (and even they were formulaic and generic). It really bugged me when they were all flashing off their stomachs in the Beat Again vids and performances <_>

I'm not even gonna answer this, i'll probaly end up with a warning for excessive language or 'unprovoked' insults (they are provoked - provoked by some peopkle's awful taste), it normally doesnt go well when i get very involved with a music debate and highly criticise horrifying artists that are ruining the music industry just like JLS and the puppetmaster Simon Cowell.

In the end, last two times I have contributed my true feelings about certain music on this website I have ended up with warnings, so why I hate JLS, i'm not even gonna go there.

Their music is nothing special thats all with me.

I don't hate JLS. I actually think the guys a little more talented than Blue and Another Level, but unfortunately their material is letting them down.

If they update their sound, and stop lifting their shirts so self-knowlingly every 5 seconds, they'd get on better.

They aren't totally awful, certainly. The way they're being handled/promoted is cringeworthy and borderline insulting but the guys themselves seem nice and have some measure of talent. What gets me is that they have a literal army of fans as if they were the second coming or something. Half of their devotees are just being sheep and buying into them because their best mates Stacieee-from-da-block and Laurun93horny-x-girl are also fans and it's seen as the done thing and that's incredibly frustrating.

Beat Again is a total guilty pleasure for me. I have to admit, I love how some of the people being snobbish and dismissive about them in this thread have signatures with the ultra-credible and sophisticated Girls Aloud, Kelly Clarkson and even N-Dubz. :P

Frankly, I just love the fact they're a 90s boyband throwback i.e. they don't make any secret of the fact their success depends on them taking their tops off every 5 minutes. None of this not-so-subtle $h!t like Blue where they'd get "accidentally" caught changing in some bushes by the paparazzi, or where they'd decide it was an incredibly groundbreaking idea to set a video on a beach where they'd just incidentally happen to get hot.

Look, I'm not going to be rude to a small child, but please try at the very least to use basic punctuation such as full stops. This isn't a txt convo with Lafayesha or Moesha after all.

I do; I just didn't feel like going against the majority of the BJers on the Sunday chart thread going on about how great her song is.

and also wasnt alexandra on x factor Noone calles her manufactured

Yes she was and yes they do. Well, I do.

Okay, i am not the best person with grammer and spelling in the world, but your miss use of capital letters upsets me. As does your spelling. I find it scary that you think "no" has an e on the end....

Anyway, as people i am sure there is nothing wrong with JLS.... But there music sounds like it escaped from the 1990's and the video for Everybody in Love? looks like it did as well, which winds me up alot as well. Also they were on the xfactor and had to sing live everyweek, and yet didn't do one full prefomance of Beat Again live, other acts get criticied for miming but they don't which also annoys me. JLS are just a reminder of why pop lost crediablity between 2003/4 and 2006/7.

i'm pretty neutral in regards to them, i kinda like their singles especially "beat again" but i have no desire to go and listen to their album or anything

who are lafayesha and moesha?

i agree with tip, hate is too stronger word.

instead of asking what is there to hate about jls, id ask what is there to like about their music? it matters not one jot how good looking they are, how gooder dancers they are, if they love their mummies or not, all that matters is their music. and that is just more, manufactured, bland, non discript nursery rhyme boyband pop aimed at girlies. of course, to their target audience (who were in nappies when 5ive, blue etc) started out they are great... but in the bigger picture they are totally insignificant.

id suggest most strongly that blue were much better, at least lee ryan could write a tune, of sorts.

I think she meant 'know' in one of those times.

It's quite hard to read 3 lines of text with only ONE full stop :(

Blue were AMAZING! It was one of my favourite bands of that time. Either my taste in music has changed drastically (doubtedly) or JLS are really not even the same level as Blue.

Tbh I think this thread should just be closed now.. its pointless

Not everyone is going to like them.. So theres no point trying to change peoples minds

& I agree about the miming.. But they have performed nearly all of their Everybody in Love performances live

and Beat Again once or twice.. I like their version from live lounge
