Posted January 2, 201015 yr According to a few Australian newspapers, Jessica Mauboy will be trying her hand in the US and UK this year. The Australian Idol 2006 runner-up who had hits with Burn, Because and Running Back featuring superstar, American rapper, Flo Rida which achieved 2x Platinum in her home country is rumoured to be working with Dr Dre to replace a few tracks on her debut album, Been Waiting to go international. Already US friendly, Running Back , Empty, Up/Down, Because and #1 single, Burn sure to make the cut with songs such as Cyndi Lauper cover, Time After Time likely to be thrown out. Songs from her deluxe edition of the album wrote especially for an international launch (Breathe, Runnin') are also said to be on there. I can't wait to hear what she comes up with working with Dr Dre and other big name producers. I'm sure this time next year she'll be the biggest thing ever to come out of the Australian music industry. Breathe: 1Q4zFme5wlw Running Back: aNqJNj3Clf4 Burn: FGfvkv3zVzU Empty: oZatX_Yj7EY I think she'll get herself known by releasing Running Back first (unless she get's another big name rapper whilst working with Dr Dre) and then going for either Up/Down, Empty or Breathe for the second single, as Burn isn't as "American".

January 2, 201015 yr I REALLY hope she released 'Running Back'. Amazing song! Then follow it with Up/Down ! exactly that. and also burn at one point!
January 2, 201015 yr Oh wow good luck to her :D I've only seen a couple of her performances on Australian Idol but I'll give her songs a listen :)
January 4, 201015 yr Author Looks like her next album might be a bit rocky, she's learning how to play the electric guitar: IT'S an unlikely hook-up: wholesome Australian Idol graduate Jessica Mauboy and the biggest, baddest gangsta rap producer there is, Dr Dre. But the Darwin chart-topper holds out hope of doing her thing over a Dre beat after a Tinseltown encounter with the towering NWA legend just weeks ago. "It was crazy. I just saw him in the corner of my eye and was just like, 'Oh my god, I'm in love with this guy and I love his music, grew up with his music and I really want to meet him'," Mauboy said. "My friend introduced us and I think they've kind of kept in touch and we really want to work towards that." The thought of hitting the studio with the man who introduced Snoop Dogg and Eminem to the world has Mauboy gushing with excitement. But it seems even a short time with Dre, aka Andre Romelle Young, indicates the way he rolls. "He was very quiet, very genuine and you could just almost see he's a businessman and you know, he really knows the dirt underneath it all. He didn't really have to say much. You just kind of knew," she said. Mauboy will return to LA in the new year for a four-month stint writing and recording her third album. She's been learning to play an electric guitar her dad bought her and said she wouldn't mind going in an "edgy" direction with it. But a beat from Dre, an elder statesman of hip-hop, would be a hell of a coup. "That would be nice but I guess in the real world it's all about the money side of it," she said. "So hopefully we can kind of get that together and the record label can really help me towards that. "You never know. He might just fall in love with what I do and want to make a track." Meanwhile, Mauboy will support Estelle at Palazzo Versace Hotel's New Year's Eve glam-fest. It'll be a rare celebration away from home for Mauboy, who'll have two-year boyfriend Themeli Magripilis in tow. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/...f-1225814332770
January 4, 201015 yr I think she'll get herself known by releasing Running Back first (unless she get's another big name rapper whilst working with Dr Dre) and then going for either Up/Down, Empty or Breathe for the second single, as Burn isn't as "American". To be honest i think 'Burn' is probably her best chance at getting a hit...
January 4, 201015 yr Author ^ I agree with Because! Weren't is meant to be her debut European single at one point until it was scrapped? Maybe they could make it more edgy and meatier if they wanna release it in the US. Running Back is her best way to debut, unless she can get a big name rapper tagged onto Burn.
January 18, 201015 yr I can't wait for her to get released over her. I love Been Waiting. Is the deluxe worth the import? Burn is one of my most played songs, it's epicly orgamsicly stunning.
January 18, 201015 yr Author I can't wait for her to get released over her. I love Been Waiting. Is the deluxe worth the import? Burn is one of my most played songs, it's epicly orgamsicly stunning. I bought the deluxe edition last week - definitely worth it. It's like Been Waiting + a lot of new tracks and remixes of Burn and Been Waiting. The bonus tracks are good, some better than the actual album tracks but very R&B (for the US). They're all on youtube. Also it has a bonus DVD with her first 4 music videos, and live performances of her first 3 singles and Up/Down. Plus the album art is AMAZING imo!! It's on iTunes so you'll be able to buy it in stores without getting the import... http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetail...&sku=232831

January 18, 201015 yr Author Free delivery?!?!?!?! Sold. Delivery from Sanity ain't cheap. The DVD should be epic, can't wait to see the live stuff. She's brill live. I hope theres some stuff like Burn and Up/Down on the deluxe. They are stunning  Woo! Hope it arrives soon  There are some stuff kinda similar to those: Breathe - Most similar to Running Back, and maybe Empty. It's like an urban ballad, the chorus is actually very chilling :o Her voice says "Breathe" and some very nice basslines kick in  Do It Again - Like a mashup of Because and Back2U. It's another ballad but has some really nice beats on it (and a little "Love In This Club" towards the end of the verses) and the chorus is catchy too considering it's a ballad. Chinese Whispers - Probably most like Burn or Up/Down but more bouncy and summery. The chorus is really effective too! So catchy! That Girl - A really dark, urban song. Like some of Rihanna's new stuff. She is one of the only women who can pull it off IMO. It's not as catchy as the last two but it's an amazing track with a great meaning. Runnin' - Probably one of the most Americanised songs on the album. It's quite catchy IMO, the chorus is so catchy and they have this tune in the background which sounds great. The verses serve as more of a buildup to the chorus than being like a hook, except at the end of each line where she repeats the last word. Been Waiting (Remix) - I'm not too good with subgenres of dance, but it's electro I think. It's as good as the original, more danceable. Burn (Remix) - This is quite a bouncy remix (kinda techno possibly) and is quite different to Jason Nevins' other mixes but still has his guitars in there. It's quite good actually, sometimes a prefer it to the original, especially with that build up at the start of the 2nd verse. As you can see I'm not the best reviewer  But I hope I gave you a better idea of what to expect in the bonus tracks. Edited January 18, 201015 yr by LiamM
