I'd often been a guest on Buzzjack purely checking out the International Charts forum. :w00t: At least now I can actually take part in any discussions that arise like the downfall of MTV European Top 20. :( Over the years, I've had a fair amount of European hits make my chart. The thing is my chart uses a system so I won't allow album tracks to enter unless they're going to be singles. If an alternative single is released in Europe that I prefer, and it makes the HET30 then it qualifies for my chart. Hence why I'm currently charting 'Secrets' by OneRepublic as I think it's a great track - much better than 'All The Right Moves' which the UK is apparantly getting. -_- I'll be sure to post the HET30 which I usually compile on Sundays once I've collected all the chart data. Each country tends to publish their new weekly charts of different days so I total it all up on my spreadsheet on Sunday afternoons. :D

I'd have thought you'd already charted 'Fireflies' by now. It became my Christmas no. 1 of 2009 (not very festive I know!!! :P ) but there was bugger all else for competition - although Lady GaGa could well have made eight weeks at no. 1 - 'Bad Romance' isn't going anywhere fast, still think the song is ace. You only like 40% of the chart? :o I'm sure that'll change once the new releases make their way into the top 40. :D

Cant say im a fan of the Wiley track though.. Thanks Aled :D I guess my opinions are the other way round. I think Wiley's song is great - it does get a bit tiresome though after a while hence not entering any higher. As for Esmee Denters, I find 'Admit It' a disappointing follow up to 'Outta Here' which peaked at no. 6 for me. 'Admit It' has just about managed to scrape into my top 40 but is likely to drop out next week.

I like nearly all your chart ^_^ Oh I understand your 40% comment now...doh!!! :lol: Have you heard 'Colors' by Morandi? If not, you might like it. They're a Romanian dance act who scored their biggest hit in my chart last year ('Angels' no. 3). 'Colors' isn't as good as 'Angels' but has managed to equalled the peak of 'Save Me' which was also released last year in Eastern Europe.

It was a bot too Hi NRG for my liking. 'Fireflies' is much better purely because the vocal style works better on a mid paced electro pop song. I'm not holding out much hope for Owl City overall for 2010 - he/they will need to release a string of great tracks to convince me. Like I say, I've heard two - one is great, one is grate!!! 02 (02) Lady GaGa - Bad Romance (01-01-01-01-01-01-01-02-02-02) [10 wks] - I'm not into her music unfortunately I'm a bit surprised because Lady GaGa dominated 2009 in a way very similar to Madonna in 1985. Madonna had a string a classic hits in 1985, and I think the same applied with Lady GaGa. You could say 'Gambler' from 1985 was the 'LoveGame' of 2009. 03 (05) OneRepublic - Secrets (10-05-07-05-03) [5 wks] - Haven't heard Did you like 'Stop And Stare' and 'Apologize'? This is definitely up there with those two tracks. It's only been released in a few countries (Austria, Germany, Slovenia) but I think it's great. Really catchy chorus too. 04 (03) 3Oh!3 feat. Katy Perry - Starstrukk (03-03-04) [3 wks] - It's growing on me now, its like Marmite you either like or hate it I really like the style of the song, like the backing music. 'Bodies' did peak at no. 4 in my chart but this is easily the better of the two songs. Chew Fu - Take That (07) [1 wk] - Hate this with passion I honestly think this is better than 'Riverside (Let's Go)' and was surprised this didn't go top 10 on iTunes. This track is a musical bomb - it's explosive, it's mental and completely OTT but I think it's great. :lol: Sidney Sampson's track sounds relatively limp in comparison. Like a watered down version of 'Take That'. 08 (08) Aura Dione - I Will Love You Monday (365) (08-08) [2 wks] - Not heard I reckon you'd like this Martin. It's got a really catchy chorus, but even the verses get stuck in your head after a couple of listens. Currently no. 1 in Germany. 09 (11) Patrick Wolf - Damaris (15-11-09) [3 wks] - Not heard If you're going to give this a listen, prefer yourself as it's about 6 minutes long but stick with it. Some songs actually benefit from being longer to allow the song to build up properly. 'Fallin' remains Alicia's best single and for a long time nothing even came close to bettering that track. I'm sure that if I had been compiling a personal chart in 2001, 'Fallin' would've definitely been a no. 1 for me. 'No One' probably comes closest peaked at no. 2 in my chart followed by 'Doesn't Mean Anything'. That said, I've heard another track called 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' (thanks to gooddelta :D ) and think it's very good. Still not a patch on 'Fallin' but better than 'No One'. (20-17) [2 wks] - best new artist of 2009 along with F+TM The only problem with Paloma Faith is when she opens her mouth and talks. She sounds extremely thick and I wonder if it's a force accent. Surely that isn't the way she really talks? I'd get easily irritated if I was to have a conversation with someone who spoke like that. >_< Looks like The Brits got it spot on giving the Best New Talent award to Florence in 2009. I'm not overly convinced with their choice for 2010; Ellie Goulding. Heard one song by her called 'Under The Sheets' and wasn't that impressed.

I didn't give it 12 points for nothing!!! :P :lol: I'm still kinda surprised that it was such a successful hit in USA - really didn't expect that at all. Indeed, 'Bad Romance' is the first song ever to spend 10 weeks in the top 2 - the next closest was Scissor Sisters 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' which started with the following chart run; 01-01-01-01-01-01-02-02-02, but then dropped to no. 4 in its tenth week on the chart.
