LSHLP#1: Pixie Lott's Boys And Girls was pretty much a default #1 because sales were VERY LOW. If AAG had those sales and was #1, it would be a #1 with really low sales, which is a hell of a lot worse than a #8 with decent sales. I'm 'picking on' AAG because it happens to be their most RECENT single. Who really cares about single from their old albums, some of which were very successful and some of which turned out to be spectacular bombs (C&S)? We already know how the album turned out in those cases, and it's the album that matters. The Sweet 7 album isn't released, so it's only right to speculate about its potential success or lack thereof. And no, it didn't do "EXTREMELY well", it did "okay". I'm not calling it a MASSIEV FLOP LOLZ!11!!!1!, I'm calling it a 'minor hit' which is exactly what it is. And just fyi, I'm not a 'hater' - Get Sexy was absolutely awful, as is WMK, but I actually really like AAG, and I've been a big fan of a lot of their previous singles as well.

LSHLP#2: A second single that sells about 140k ish overall and peaks at #8 when released AFTER THE ALBUM is 'anything but a minor hit' - if it's out before the album, and especially when it's by such a normally high profile artist or group as Sugababes, #8 with 140k ish total sales is a MINOR HIT. Positions and sales defining a major or minor hit or indeed an enormous flop depend on the artist - a #15 single for Lady GaGa which is from a new album that has yet to be released would be a flop, a #15 single for, say, Biffy Clyro would be a minor hit, and a #15 for a new artist with no mainstream exposure whatsoever in a genre that rarely does well here would be a big hit. Change the artist to Sugababes and #15 to #8 and they're in the middle category (ie. a minor hit).

LSHLP#3: The adjective 'abusive' does NOT mean that the 'victim' feels abused, it means that the 'attacker' wrote/said/typed/faxed whatever the text/speech/fax is in a manner intended to abuse. And me and JamesP are far from 'BFFs' - if you're looking for that, I would guess the closest person you'll want to look for is Chris/Mr Self Destruct. But I don't know that for a fact because I don't know JamesP very well.

LSHLP#4: People like you who refuse to learn very basic grammar are the reason the English language is dying. It's the last piece of culture we have left, we can't let it die :manson: And you can go jump off a cliff if you're going to respond to this saying you don't care about the English language.

That.

That post is legendary

Thanks

I was hoping if I put it all out in one post it might drill the message into his mind.

I reckon scrape the Top 10 then plummet. It's a decent song but losing 'oomph' if you know what I mean? Not a patch on 'About A Girl' which was amaze. :(

Erm correction THIS IS MY TOPIC! I created it. Look on the first page. <_< :P Learn how to read before you post OK. ^_^ :P

I love how you try and find fault to such a petty extent to make AAG's success look like a flop. It sold 40k at #8, that would get you almost or #1 in a release week like that of Pixie Lott's Boys And Girls. Also love how you pick on AAG, and not the 80% of other girlband and Sugababes singles that have had a similar top 40 run to it. The Sugas did EXTREMELY well regardless of the circumstances the single was under: X Factor flooding the charts, little single promo and the Keisha drama.

SUGABABES HAVE DEFINITELY BOUNCED BACK. :yahoo: And WMK will add the "bang" adjective to that and prove all you haters wrong!

You have really petty standards of whats a hit and whats not tbh. A second single thats sold so well and 40k at #8 is anything but a minor hit, at #10 by any artist must be a flop then according to you. It's not, reality cheque.

:/ You felt abused by an honest message over the internet? OH PLZ. :drama: Just going to have to ignore you and your BFF, imaturity now I guess. I apologize, I sincerely do x.

Aww, mind helping me nerden up on my punctuation and learn to be childishly petty at the same time. Tha-nx <3

Bloody hell

The Sugababes have done anything but bounce back. AAG had a shocking chart run and should have sold over 300k with a peak of top3. Get Sexy should have sold over 200k, but Support for the band has plummeted in recent months. You'd have to be highly delusional not to notice that.

Only In The Middle and Caught In A Moment have had a similarly bad run.

Extremely well would have been #1. Very well would of been top3/5 it did ok coming top10. Just ok, nothing more nothing less. B-Rye is very much correct the song was a minor hit, and unless WMK hits the A list by Feb it's going the same way.

You also have to remember that sales at that time of year are elevated to an extent that if AAG was released now it'd be on sales of 80k at best.

Loon down mate you are single handedly giving Sugababes fans a bad rep on this site. As mod of their forum the last thing i want is for Sugababes fans to be thought of as deluded and utterly loony like the Cheryl/GA Loons.

Back down and admit you are wrong about this. About A Girl was and always will be a minor hit. I would love nothing more to shout from the roof tops that it was a great success and that it was a huge hit BUT IT WASN'T. I've been a fan since 2002, and while they are not the band i fell in love with i still care deeply for them. I would never ever overstate their success. Their past successes were gloat worthy because that's what they were successes. 3 triple platinum albums in 3 years, that is a huge hit. #8 is f***ing nothing.

As leader of the Cheryl/GA forum, I ask to not involve them.

The point still stands, Cheryl/GA loons have a bad rap.

The reason I brought up point #1 because if AAG is a "minor hit" by your standards then the likes of Sugas and GA would both be classified as having success in the terms of having a long string of minor hits and we all know it's not like that. A top 10 is a top 10 get over it. AAG was a top 10 smash, if you liked the song as much as you say you do you'd agree with me!

OK, whatever @ point #2. I honestly don't think its the huge difference your making it out to be. AAG would've have done equally as well after the album IMO, because the group would actually work their asses off to promote the album at the same time benefiting AAG.

#3 - I never referred to you as being Jamie's BFF, I was referring to the word immaturity being his BFF. And my PM was no way abusive, I could've argued with him directly in the thread but instead I confronted him in PM like the mods say you can so I could save the other forum members from having to go through the annoyance of yet another vicious girlband argument. He is just being dramaqueen and crybaby about it.

I can't say that I have the energy or time to go through a long post for a punctuation error, I have a life so I'll punctuate or pronounce words however I want to this is not a Grammar forum is it and your post has grammatic errors too, whether they are there for emphasis or whatever, we all do it. No need to be all "OMG it's the end of the world he said 'your' instead of 'you're'" about it.

I'm not going to comment on the rest of your post because I don't want to be repeating myself.

But I seriously need to sort this out. Ok, I have grammar nazi tendencies, and grammar isn't a huge deal to all people OBVIOUSLY. My posts may occasionally have very minor grammatical errors, everyone does it sometimes, little things like that aren't important in the long run.

But here are a few REALLY SIMPLE grammar rules that everyone should know:

their/there/they're - GET IT RIGHT.

your/you're - GET IT RIGHT.

apostrophes in general - GET IT RIGHT.

Saying 'you're a pickle headed bat dung flavoured gummy bear' and saying 'your a pickle headed bat dung flavoured gummy bear', believe it or not, DOES make a difference. The former makes you look like an educated person non-explicitly insulting a person who is a pickle headed bat dung flavoured gummy bear, the other makes you look like a complete ignoramus who doesn't even know basic grammar. Fair enough if it's someone who doesn't know English as a first language, but you really SHOULD know those simple rules if you've spoken English all your life. Schools drill these simple rules into your head continuously (or at least they should) from quite an early age, so it astounds me that there are still people who can't grasp it. The moment that primary school English teachers start telling their young students to put apostrophes in plurals I'm moving to Finland.

How the hell was 'About a Girl' at "Top 10 smash"? It got to #8 and then dropped out of the Top 10, and then lower and lower. A Top 10 smash would be charting high in the Top 10, and then staying there for a few weeks. What is with all the delusion?

I do love how my post get's ignored by the Uberloon in question

I agree 100% with MrLovett

And just to establish that I'm not only picking at addicted2suga, that should be gets, no apostrophe ;o

I don't think it's fair to pick up on peoples grammatical errors, it's an internet forum and for all you know they could have a form of dyslexia or something. Sorry, but it's just a pet hate of mine and I don't think it's fair or neccessary, it's hardly like they r speakin lyk diz now is it? Get over it.

I'll try to control it :drama: I'm just generally pissed off today anyway.

I completely agree with Jack. Seems like this forum is full of extreme pettyists because whatever I say is wrong and nothing is ever a hit, it must have this type of chart run and that sales total and this length in the top 40 or its success gets described as "minor" or "ok" - you people are just way too overboard, a top 10 single is a big achievement for any artist, especially in this day and age where only the likes of Westlife, All Saints and McFly have an unbeaten top ten chart history. So many fans pray that singles go top 10 and when they do they're not happy they want this and that and the other. It just baffles me, it's like some people on here are just OCD perfectionists.

It spent FIVE WEEKS in the Top 40. That is NOT a huge hit. What planet are you on? A Top 10 hit is fantastic, nobody is denying that. We are denying the fact that you think a song that charted at #8, then fell to #13, and then #23, then #34, then #37 and then out of the Top 40 completely, is a massive hit! Because it's not. The sooner you come to terms with this, the better.

You could save yourself this whole shit by admitting that AAG was NOT a massive hit.

I was in a hurry

my grammar is normally alright.

Its my OPINION ffs. I don't have OCD perfectionist standards when it comes to classifying what as a hit and in my eyes AAG was a massive hit! Any top ten in my eyes is a massive hit, B-rye you come across as if you are trying to dictate whats right and whats wrong and then force it off onto others! Not gonna work me! AAG was a massive hit in my eyes and by my standards. Get the hell over it already! :/ I'm not delusional, I think many people share the same standards as I do when it comes to saying a top 10 single was a hit.
