Sugababes are clearly heading for a 14-39-71-x chart run with WMK...

Nah, I recon Sugababes are going to peak at #7 officially as their album will be coming out and they will be promoting it like hell as they know they need to bulild up their fanbase again. Also I think Gravity will just scrappe top 10 ( Ego style ) as the new releases are far poorer than when CMO came out and its a far better/ commertial song IMO although Here We Go Again and The Fall should defo have been released before Gravity and CMO! :(

I can think of quite a lot of examples from last year (excluding the obvious 2).

James Morrison Feat. Nelly Furtado :: 'Broken Strings' :: #2 ('You Make It Real' :: #8)

The Saturdays :: 'Issues' :: #4 ('Up' :: #5)

Alesha Dixon :: 'Breathe Slow' :: #3 ('The Boy Does Nothing' :: #5)

Miley Cyrus :: 'Fly On The Wall' :: #16 ('7 Things' :: #25)

Pussycat Dolls Feat. Missy Elliott :: 'Whatcha Think About That' :: #9 ('I Hate This Part' :: #12)

Akon Feat. Colby O'Donis & Kardinal Offishal :: 'Beautiful' :: #8 ('I'm So Paid' :: #59)

Beyoncé :: 'Halo' :: #4 ('Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' :: #9)

Katy Perry :: 'Waking Up In Vegas' :: #19 ('Thinking Of You' :: #27)

Little Boots :: 'Remedy' :: #6 ('New In Town' :: #13)

And the majority of them were released earlier in the year, which was quieter than when the previous single was released.

Most of these are better songs than the predecessors though. Exception being James Morrison, who sold BS because of Nelly Furtado, and the Sats who are the only genuine example on there.

CMO pisses all over Gravity,

'I Hate This Part' is the best PCD song ever. :mellow:

CMO pisses all over Gravity,

It also pisses all over the first two singles, but there was too much competition and too little promotion at once. The label don't seem to care about singles anymore, they just want to sell the album :mellow:

'Here We Go Again' must be the next single. 'Gravity' is just boring.
Hi could someone update the first post leona's next single is now 'I Got You' and is expected sometime in february. :)
At the beginning of the week it said that singles were being released 11/01 by HURTS and Lykke Li. Have they changed now or am I missing something?

Well, release dates keep on changing from week to week, nothing is 100% sure until it is really released and can be found in the shops.

As Ben says, release dates constantly change - if they didn't there would be no need to do a weekly update

Hurts is out on the 18th, Lykke Li doesn't seem to be happening now, unless its an Itunes exclusive

If you can provide me with a reliable source

What *is* it with this Owl City song - it's being talked of like it'll have a Bryan Adams run at the top?? :huh:

Usual January hype - because it's a dismal, boring month, the media look desperately for something to hype up as the 'Sound' of the new year, and with very little opposition, it tops the chart immediately... such as Mika, who in all honesty, really isn't a good artist and won't have much longevity.

Just Jack the same year was a similar situation. And could Basshunter's awful guff been number one for five weeks in ANY other month than January? I think not.

The only artist to get past the January hype and have chart toppers later in the year had been Gaga.

1st Feb

The Dawn Chorus feat Frank Turner - Carnivalesque

What song is this?

Is it an alternative version of

which I thought was called 'The Guilt'. I don't know anything about this band except someone sent me this video cause they reckoned I'd like it and yeah, it's pretty good, I'd download this. :dance:

Apparently Alicia Keys is releasing Empire State of Mind Part II (Broken Down) on February 22nd!

Noooooooooooooooo! I do love this song (I'd like to see a video for it too), but 'Try Sleeping with A Broken Heart' MUST MUST MUST be released soon! :cry:

AaronTM's right isn't he? They're going to ignore TSWABH here and after ESoM(PII) they're gonna jump to her third single in the US ('Put It In A Love Song' feat. Beyonce) which, again I love, but it's not as good as TSWABH! :snif:
