Glad the Plan B song is doing well - its been grinding into my mind because everytime I turn on the radio it seems to be playing and I now can't get it out of my head ;)

Florence down to no.4 :lol: Owl City won't reach top 3 for the chart today, too much of a gap between it and 3oh!3 i think.

Alexandra does not need to be so high until next week, the others are releasing this Monday she still has another week.I would not underestimate her fans they may not be crazed teen girls but they really want her to get her third No 1.It is so close between 6-9 I am sure they will be swopping all of next week.She needs to get a good Top 10 placing next week.

 

Yeah but i know how these things pan out. She might be high now considering her release date but new songs will keep pushing her down. The best example was with Broken Hearted Girl by Beyonce. It was already around #40 six weeks before it's release but new songs each week would force her down and she eventually never peaked even in the top 20 on iTunes let alone the official chart. :(

Well the only songs that could make top 10 between now and Alexandra's actual release are Girls Can't Catch or OneRepublic possibly. Unless Jay Z or N Dubz go in there.

I think she's safe to land between #3-#5.

I like the Plan B song but the video, yikes it is awful.I hate Jayz and Mr Hudson but the video is really good.That is true that there does not seem to be huge competition for Alex when BH comes out and I have every faith that it will easily be top 3 or higher when it is released.What has happened to The Sats I really hope they are in a good Top 10 position in the Official Charts.

Another one to watch this week is Vampire Weekend's Cousins (BJSC effect :lol:). It wasn't released on iTunes, and I'm not certain it was released at all, but their album is out tomorrow so the album download should get it at least top 40 I reckon.

Plan B was great in End Credits, what was that song's poeak position on the itunes chart? It only reached no.10 I thiknk on the offical chart, should've been higher IMO.

I guess you're right. Hopefully it will be top 10 in the officials today. Spiidey said the other day it is probably very close between #11-#13. I doubt the Sats would have risen but i'm sure their core fanbase has kept them in the top 10 by the skin of their teeth.

 

Alex is ahead of Justin (like she was on Friday's mids) and way ahead of Rihanna, Joe and Cheryl so i think she could possibly be top 10...just. It doesn't matter that much atm but it would be nice just to secure a top 10 placing incase. :D :wub:

I think I recall End Credits reaching #5 on iTunes, and it made #9 officially. It fell down pretty quickly out of the top 40 :( but it's now stabilising at the end of the top 75, it climbed last week officially I think and it's #65 on iTunes right now (STL has climbed to #42 ^_^)

Where is Wordshaker on iTunes albums? I know the numbers are tiny but it is an indication. I wonder if it will be Top 75 albums this week.

I think as the 3rd single is Here Standing the album will sell better off the back of that single as it is a ballad and ballads tend to sell more albums.

I am surprised that management are willing to put money into the saturdays campaign, they must have lost a fortune already, the album has sold appalingly.

Of course the option is to drop them. Thats what you do with acts who don't make money. The record companies arent charities doing it for the good will of the artists are they?

What has happened to their fanbase? If Chasing Lights went Platinum and this can't go Gold...

Despite a higher peak it has only just sold 50,000 thousand while CL has sold 300,000. Very very poor but I don't think they will get dropped though as they still have a big fanbase and their singles are charting well-ish.
