Great post.

Owl City is one of the few artists today who are really WOW! The great thing is, Fireflies isn't even his best song - yet it's still amazing. But i would expect this from the UK. Rather buy a cheap generic record (Iyaz) than a phenomenal piece of music by Owl City.

No need to be so bitchy about the British public, everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to express it.

OC is going to get the #1 when the airplay kicks in - it is selling tens of thousands of copies on hype alone. I agree that OC is amazing, but don't dismiss any stances that differ from your own.

Fireflies is a cheap inferior blatant rip off of the critically acclaimed indie electro pop act The Postal Service.

Still I'm hardly surprised as you are attacking Glee; as after all the combination of razor sharp hilarious wit; savage dialogue and variety of show stopping big production tunes using Broadway actors that shames the eXcrement Factor (no wonder Cheryl Cole dissed this US show) that has seen this new show lead the Golden Globes nominations this year; be a critically and commercially acclaimed success and make fans of comedy writing heavyweights Matt Groening; Ricky Gervais & Seth MacFarlane is obviously too much for you.

I hope The Glee Cast are #1 on Sunday as it would be nice to see some people who are genuinely talented who don't need to mime to sing live do well; and roll on their success each week.

I'd expect Example will be #10 before midnight. He'll climb a bit quicker after he's on the front page.

I'm surprised GCC are stalling by the looks of things :o

You are very right there. I've expressed mine.

My honest opinion is that the general british public (based on recent number ones/huge hits) have poor taste. But that is my opinion, others can disagree. Maybe i just look for different things in a song. It seems the GBP generally like the music and the up-tempos. I like the opposite - lyrics and ballads/mid-temps. However, there are a few exceptions like Prodigy, Owl City etc.

And i wouldn't call it being bitchy. More the opposite - being honest.

I wouldn't be too sure it will go to #1. Songs do run out of steam. I can see this being a 'Foundations' and hang around the top 3 for ages without being number 1.

Im not surprised GCC seem to be stalling already. I like the song (and GCC for that matter) but i just never saw this being the huge hit some people have predicted.

I hope im wrong though.

My God, Glee went up an awful lot the past hour. Journey are catching p to Sidney Samson as well. Looks like Don't Stop Believin' will be in the top 5 twice next week.
Because of the Channel 4 airing

Really hope they manage to go Number 1! I've seen all the episodes and seriously they get better as they get on

Fireflies, unlike the aforementioned cheap cover machine, actually has inspiration behind it. I'm extremely astonished by the background of all of his songs. It seems it's not that blatant after all

Oh and yes that is the reason i'm attacking Glee. It is obviously too much for me. WOAH! It definitely is a quality, original TV show that no one in their right mind would diss. It's extremely witty and wow the actors. Breath-taking. If they were not number one, it would be a CRIME. How could anyone think it was a cheap inferior rip off of the commercially successful HSM?

His album is all the same! It's really hard for me personally to get into. It sorta blends into one.

PLEASE could people stop with the HSM comparisons! SERIOUSLY! If you think it's actually "a cheap inferior rip off of the commercially successful HSM" then you need to keep watching the series.

I thought so....

Don't think they're reaching no.1 though, just look at the gap between them and Iyaz.

I must say though, that the show looks funny as hell, but still I think the songs are $h!t.

Poor GCC :(

I reckon they will even have to think of some new material or they will simply have to be dropped.

In all Honesty I thought the song would have peaked higher than KYHU as they have had wayy more promotion this time around, There's nothing orginal about the song though and it does get boring pretty quickly as much as I like it.

Can I just ask a question please that is off topic, is Leona Lewis releasing 'I See You,' because I usually can't stand her but find that song AMAZING!!!!
