Is this "Take A Bow" originally by Madonna or Rihanna?

It's the Rihanna version.

But Madonna also has a song called 'Take A Bow'.

I love Glee but I think most people are just jumping on the bandwagon, saying they love it. You can't love something after seeing only 2 episodes. I was watching at the US pace and I can say I love it because I've seen them all but for the people who ae just getting into it, you don't love it. Shame people just like it because it's popular at the moment, bet if it wasn't on E4 and didn't have regular adverts people wouldn't watch it.

I think that's a bit of a snobbish attitude to have. Curses to anyone who isn't a TV nerd and downloaded all of the episodes from the internet before the UK premiere? People are hardly jumping on a bandwagon for enjoying a program that has only just reached these shores.

I know, personally, I've been interested in watching Glee for a while. But I don't have the inclination to download TV episodes, like a child opening Xmas presents early, if we're going to get it eventually.

 Where are they then? Because Lea Michele has an amazing voice, that is better than at least 95% of the people in the charts right now. You might not like the songs, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't buy them. They are buying the songs that they like, therefore pushing down the ones that they don't. Those songs might be the ones you like, but so what. Everyone has different music tastes, so they'll buy what they want. Like it or lump it.

my arguement isn't about the fact that they dont/do have good voices its the fact that all the songs are 'covers' of an original and therefore i dont understand why people are buying them.artists like biffy clyro(for example) have got brillant voices, they play instruments (guitars or electronic equipment) and write their own songs from their own experiences.the glee singers are clearly great singers but then again so have the boys from westlife but again with them I hate seeing them get into the charts, its the same with things like X-FACTOR - an artist imo has to tick alot more boxes than just having a good voice to be worthy of a place in the legendary uk top 40, but i suppose the best songs that last and live forever don't always chart highly.i suppose tho if people love a tv programme they are more likely to want to buy a song promoted from it to be part of it.

but if people want to buy the glee song fair enough, i am not trying to have a go and sorry if you felt i was!! :(

Who are you to tell people what they can or can't love in such a short amount of time?

I've seen all 13 episodes so I don't come into the category that you've singled out, but if someone says they love it after even one episode, it's their prerogative to do so.

It's like listening to a song for the first time and saying you love it. Just because you've heard it 13 times doesn't mean you love it more or are "allowed" to love it.

he's not saying your not allowed to love it personally hes trying to 'understand' why people love it

Glee is just glorified karaoke for me

Listened just now to Somebody To Love on You Tube and it was literally the Queen version with new people singing, no originality at all, nothing more than pretty decent karaoke

exactly. i had a listen to some of their covers on youtube and if some of them were played on the radio i wouldn't even notice they were covers..

The term "you can't love it" is saying exactly that. That's not trying to understand it.

Was the identical backing track too :o

I have Queen Karaoke dvd and it was 100% the same backing track just these lot added vocals to it

They get the rights to the songs and presumably the backing tracks from the record labels.

True but they are still karaoke singers really, at least HSM create their own material

That girl in Glee has a pretty good voice, lot of power but they should do some original material

Such a fascinating abstraction from names. Now the question is which one of... 5?

Well, they are having quite HUGE success for karaoke singers but you know better.

AFAIK they are looking too. Diane Warren has been contacted to write somethin.

In all fairness to them, it is a show about a Glee Club that would be singing covers at places like Sectionals. It's far more realistic for them to sing covers than original songs.

To be fair, you sort of have to see Glee, rather than listen to it with a still screen up. On record, the majority of them do sound like glorified karaoke versions (of those 'fake' versions of hits you get on iTunes) but you'd probably appreciate them more if you watched the show.

At least that's how it was for me with their "Don't Stop Believin'" cover. With a similar screen on Youtube, it meant nothing to me. But, in the context of the episode, it's a really uplifting moment and that improved it for me. I'd imagine this will be the case in future episodes too. I think they've ruined Jazmine Sullivan's "Bust Your Windows", but I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I see the episode and context of it.
