Has Glee ratings gone up this week.

Last week 1.06m tuned in with 286k tuning in on E4 +1.

 

So it is up 300,000 week on week on E4.

 

On E4 + 1 it's down 5,000 week on week.

 

However some people like to combine the ratings, so if you did that it got just over 1.08m last week and 1.11m this week.

You are very bias woth your Glee love.

 

Glee are only very popular, apart from the fact that it's quite funny, because they are on TV. If they weren't, and they were a group they wouldn't have as much success. It's nopt because of the music they are up in the charts, it's because they are on the TV.

 

Oh and yes, it is very different from artists promoting their songs on shows, because Glee have a whole f***ing show!

I am biased, I will be the first to admit that. Though I do think it's funny...so I'm not completely biased like Glee fanboys and fangirls around here.

 

Maybe you don't quite get what I'm saying. I'm saying that if they were a music group they wouldn't get as much success, but since they are a TV show they are instantly LOVED by the public because it's TV. I am saying that the public just eat up a lot of what they see on TV.

I don't think that is neccesarily true. I'm not giving them the writing credits, but alot of the songs in my opinion sound better when they have been given the Glee treatment.

 

But each to their own!

 

 

here's where we have to agree to disagree i think. I think part of what makes a great song is that somebody took time to 'create' the lyrics (which may mean something to them), 'create' the melody through being able to play musical instruments and are able to perform them well - this creativity is what makes music so brillant and what drives new creativity in other artists imo.whereas things like glee, the xfactor and westlife for example only fulfil maybe at the most one of these categories but once again you may have different criteria in what makes a good song!! ;)

at the end of the day in aid of democracy i think everyone is entitled to their opinion and Equals has every right just like me to moan about how the most famous chart in the world is being dominated by glee. You just have to argue back and accept some people are different to you and so on!!

I saw Mercedes do And I am Tellin You which was superb she should really get more solos(I hope it means the song will chart with the Jennifer Hudson and Holliday versions also).The teacher though should stop singing his Thong Song is cringeworthy, hope Sisco's version reenters the charts.

I understand that. That's because you get to know the characters by watching the show, you get a connection with the characters so of course that is true. But I don't understand why that would be used to debunk their success?

I see where you are coming from. But unlike X-factor when they cover a song they do more then just put their vocals on it. They also do alot of the production elements with their vocals. So atleast they are changing it up and making it a completely different product from the original, where as X Factor and American Idol only sing over it and put it out there to buy. Not to mention the Glee covers are backed with theatrical performances on the show.

Fair enough. I think as long as people post valid opinions and criticism that isn't rude to fans then I don't see a problem with it either.

B) I missed the start of the 4music top 10 chart... but i saw that soembody to love was included at like number 9 or something :wub: !! What video was shown ? cos the track on the album includes Arties verse, whereas the progarmme cuts it out... xx
