Okay, Alex James is absolutely hilarious. :lol:

 

Meatloaf's comment 'That ... was like the opera equivalent to seeing two women kiss in the subway!' I hope people give this show a chance ... so far ... two damn good vocals and one 'Rossini meets Dennis the Menace' ... great entertainment. I like it that I actually understand what the judges are saying in this.

 

Alex James did look the part (but so did Jimmy ... and Kym ... I thought was great). So far ... all three contestants have actually been funny and entertaining.

Marcella Detroit was just fabulous! I'm afraid Danny from McFly ... is awful ... really nice and funny guy ... but the weakest voice by far so far! I'm sure he'll get through judging by the screams!

Only watched bitd & pieces of the other performances so perhaps I cant really compare but I thought Nessa did brilliantly :( I suppose that just shows a lack of opera knowledge for me though.

I was impressed with Macella although I only caught the end of her performance.

 

Just seen Darius perform. I'm used to hearing 'Nessum Dorma' in the original key that Pavarotti and even Paul Potts sang the song in, so Darius' version (in a much lower key) didn't really work for me but he can sing.

 

Is there a repeat for this. I'm quite interested in this actually. :P

Unfortunately I think it'll be Marcella who will leave tonight. I was quite dissapointed about Vanessa's performance except for the high notes. I think the best performance for me tonight was Kym so I hope she stays. Alex was hilarious.

Well before they even read out the names I knew the McFly fans would see Danny through (even though ... nice chap that he is ... he was by far the worst.) He'll probably be through until the end!

 

Wouldn't be surprised though to find that Marcella actually had the most votes. I'm glad that Jimmy and Darius went through safely enough.

Suprsingly so yes :) Even Myleene Klass (as much as I like the girl, a TV Presenter she was not ment to be) and Darius couldnt put me off it. I cant imagine Vanessa will last long unless the judges have a massive change of heart though :(

I completely agree. Marcella was very good and could prove to be a bit of a dark horse in this competition. She isn't that well known to people over 50 but could well make a name for herself once again. If Marcella wins, what's the prize? Does she get to release an album of tracks she's performed over the series? Watch out Susan Boyle!!! :lol:

 

Also agree that Danny McFly was one of the poor performers of the night but whilst he was singing all I could hear was all the girls in the audience screaming. -_- It's a wonder Danny could hear the backing track/orchestra.

Vanessa has huge potential ... she just wasn't very with it tonight (I suppose Saturday's duties must come first). She definitely deserves to be there ahead of bloody Danny McFly!

No, I posted my disappointment of Darius further up the thread. He lowered the key far too much and it sort of made the song sound awkward. At least he was still in key the whole way through.

Darius did change the key ... but he was listenable. A bigger problem I found with him was he lacked movement or emotion (which actually surprised me more than anything.) He does have the basic tools there to be good ... all the same ... he did enough to go through tonight.
