Kym was great

Jimmy was so, so much better than last week and was actually pretty good

Marcella was terrific (again ... given the hardest song so far!)

Danny ... I so love this guy but the song was difficult and he didn't fare too well with it

It was between Danny and Jimmy. The panel decided to keep Danny in. I think that Darius was worse than both of them if I'm honest - he had a much easier song to sing than either Danny or Jimmy. Given the two choices though ... as much as I wanted Jimmy to stay ... I think they made the right decision.

Danny in the bottom 2 :o thought the McFly loons would be enough to keep him in all the way. Looks like he'll go this week then. Hopefully Darius will soon follow.

I'm not a McFly fan ... and I thought he was rubbish on the first week. However, he has improved week-on-week, and on last Friday's performance ... he definitely didn't deserve to be in the bottom two - I thought it should have been between Jimmy and Darius (and I quite fancy Darius). Of all of them this week - Danny was given the most difficult song to perform.

 

On the whole though ... the lads are nowhere near as good as the girls and of the girls ... Marcella is so bloody good. They keep giving her the most difficult of songs and she delivers the goods each time. If anything Bernie Nolan has much, much more experience as, although not opera, she has performed in musical productions quite a lot - She was in Blood Brothers for quite a while and she got brilliant reviews for it.

She's clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the contestants - and the 2 ridiculous poodle permed idiots on the panel (Bowen and the freaky Tonioli-lite one).... voting for Danny McFly OVER her? Ok Danny improved a heck of a lot from the last week, but Marcella is miles ahead!

I think that Bernie Nolan should win, she was magnificent. I was bored with Marcella's performance, I prefer it when she's singing all the high notes, but I can't stand to watch her. She makes me nervous, and I don't like the faces she pulls. I think it'll be:

 

1st: Bernie Nolan

2nd: Kym Marsh

3rd: Darius Campbell

4th: Marcella Detroit

Darius just makes me CRINGE..... he's absolutely FOUL. He exudes cheese and amateur dramatics from every pore - vile.

 

Marcella sang Ave Maria BEAUTIFULLY last night... I've seen her sing live several times - and she's one of the finest live performers I've watched..... plus, with Shakepears Sister, she made some of the best pop music of the 90s. She SO should win...but she won't.

I saw the results part last night but missed the main show. :drama: However, I was surprised to see Marcella in the bottom 2. I think what goes against Marcella is that she's the least well known (ie; my parents watch it and know the other three Kym, Darius and Bernie but haven't a clue who Marcella is). A shame because it'd be incredible if the "unknown one" who was clearly excellent at singing opera won the show all about singing opera. The fact Darius is getting more votes speaks volumes - it's only because he's well known. He might have done some West End shows but his performances are like empty bottles, there's just nothing I get from when he sings. It's all a bit "try hard" and "I'm so good aren't I". Just...no!!!

 

So I expect it'll be Kym who wins because she's got the Coronation Street fans vote.

This is the only downside to having a show where a panel of judges is involved. Especially when, like The X Factor, there's an even number so nobody has to cast a deciding vote so they can cop out and revert to the public vote. They should scrap the public vote and have the judges be 100% fair and forget all this "to make good television" nonsense. It ruins what can be an otherwise excellent show. The public vote for puppets - the ones who are attractive, the ones with a funny personality. As for the ones who are talented? Well, sadly that doesn't always happen.

 

That's why those two poodle perms voted to save Danny. They probably rehearshed the results show anyways and they knew exactly who they were gonna vote for. The just act up to the cameras in a "oh I really don't want to make a decision...........but I'll vote to save". :lol: Sharon Osbourne, love her or loathe her, is the only one who went against the rule book and refused to vote. Probably the reason why they got rid of her and replaced her with someone who will do exactly what she's told to. :rolleyes:

I hope Marcella goes next week, but I can't stand to watch her. I appreciate she has a beautiful voice, and I love listening to her. But she just makes me nervous, and her facial movements are just too awkward to watch. Bernie to win :wub:

Odd thing to say, that you missed the main show, but that Darius is only getting votes because he is well known, and that he is no good. I suggest you watch the show, His Non Piu'Andrai was excellent. Marcella had a not so good week, and Danny was just not as good as the others. Possibly he was getting votes because people didnt know how good he could be.

I tend to watch the performances on YouTube. :P I don't have Sky+ so can't record programmes and I can't be bothered to record programmes onto DVD[/lazyboy]. :lol:

I'm shocked your parents are unaware of her, Hitstastic... she spent quite a long time in the charts in the 90s...as well as having one of the longest-running number ones of the whole decade. Shakespears Sister were fabulous...

This show could be so much better if everyone involved took it more seriously. I did like it the first couple of weeks but it's starting to get on my nerves. Darius needs to go next. and then the best 3 singers will be left in the competition.
