What about randomly leaked tracks that doesn't make ANY album of an AF Artist? For example when I sent Rihanna 'Hatin' On The Club', it didn't make ANY of her albums, but she has an AF... would that have been considered as a B-Side and be let off?

It would be fine, random demos and b-sides etc are all still fair game.

It's just the actual album tracks that are banned.

eg:

from Lily Allen; anything on the deluxe edition of It's Not Me, It's You is ineligible. Everything from Alright, Still and stuff like Kabul $h!t remain eligible for entry.

The extended AF rule stops everyone rushing after an artist when their new album leaks [Like what happened with Lily this time last year, and what would no doubt have happened with the Sugababes in XXV]

I think Chis, people's bigger issue is that noone actually CHECKS these playlists, especially MTV and not only don't like being dictated what they can and cant enter, but might not know what kind of tracks are playlisted here etc.

how do we speak like everyday and you took my comment seriously o_0. you know me better. if anything i like this contest more due to this rule, we should make it a even wider range of stuff not allowed.

90% of entries I dont like, and this 90% is all mainly sounds rather similar.

Even *I* knew you were being sarcastic Chris :kink:

So much of the 'duo of the year'. -_-
I do see the point of all of this, but this contest is becoming more of a chore now than fun. You can't just enter a song, you'll have to check if they're Radio 1 playlisted or MTV Hits playlisted, and then... once, you've been cleared of this, you might get disqualified during the contest? I agree with it, apart from the disqualification, as that just takes the whole fun and adventure out of the contest.

Hatin' On The Club would've been permitted, yes ^_^

Oh come on! If you look at the kind of thing that goes on those lists, it's incredibly unlikely you'll fall foul of these rules unless you're entering something obviously cheap - this isn't going to be the sort of thing that suddenly comes along and starts claiming random entries! :P

Obvious winner etc.

Just like Silly Boys.

Something being an obvious winner due to quality doesn't make it cheap. Silly Boy would've likely been ban listed as everyone went bat $h!t crazy over it because they thought it would be the new GaGa, international number one for weeks on end etc. I don't really see m/any reasons why The Girl and the Robot should've been banned though?

Methinks you're bringing personal dislike of a track into the equation Phil, that's a no-no :P

It's more than a dislike. I really f***ing hate it.

It was ass raped on here pre-contest. iirc

Only once it had been introduced to us! We can't be banning things such as The Girl and the Robot and Release Me by virtue of the fact that they'd received big hype due to being reserved...

I never said it should be banned, i was just using it as an example :(

I know, I know, I just think the whole contest is getting too serious. It's supposed to be fun, ASWELL AS discovering new music. Are you telling me Chiddy Bang's Opposite Of Adults is cheap, and people will not be discovering anything new. I know you've got to have rules enforced, or this contest would have fallen apart long ago, but the rate is going, I can just see the whole release schedule being banned.

It's just the disqualification that is a bit $h!tty.

We know that there's no perfect cast-iron solution to it all, and there will be exceptions (for example, had Chiddy Bang been entered and then suddenly gone C-List, that would almost certainly be an example of something where we'd give permission for it to remain in the contest ;)), but we're hoping that this will be the last resolution when it comes to these rules.

I can offer you a guarantee that as long as I'm mod, we will NEVER ban the entirety of the release schedule.

Sorry if this' been answered, but when does 24 reservation open? :)

When Aaron decides to open it, I'd presume? :P He hasn't announced yet, I know about as much as you do. I'd hazard a guess that he'll open reservation before Friday night at the latest?

Sorry if this question has already been asked about the new rules...

Would you be aloud to send a song by an artist who is in a group that has a forum on Buzzjack?

Nothing new here [/biffyclyro]

Cheryl is not allowed :kink:

To be honest with you, all of this is fine. I'm really just bored, so I wanted to see how everything was being handled. YOU'VE GOT IT ALL UNDER CONTROL, TRONMEISTER.
