I Got You is amazing. Brave is far better and Outta My Head is more chart-friendly but IGY is great.

 

'I Got You' is a good song, but 'Outta My Head' was the obvious choice. 'I Got You' will miss the top 10 and not help the album either. :(

Sorry to sound rude but that (^) is what i HATE about JLS fans. They have no critical acclaim whatsoever. Their number ones are cos of hormonal oestogen-fuelled teenage girls who would even buy a song that only contained three minutes of JB farting. It's depressing that a generic 'band' are outselling a raw british talent in Alexandra album-wise. I've listened to their album and only Kickstart and Titghtrope at a push are decent. How the hell One Shot is #11 , i'll never want to think about.

 

The MOBOs were voted for by the public (crazy teenage girls will vote like crazy - Alex can't exactly take her top off and flash at every opportunity). The BRITs are a joke. JLS will def win Breakthrough Act and British Single since the girls will vote like crazy. However, no self-respecting R1 listener will vote JLS ahead of the other noms. They won't win British Group. It's hilarious they are in such a category with credible bands.

 

As someone said before, this is a Will/Gareth situation. I.E. Gareth will overshadow the winner short-term but in the long run will be forgotten - based on lack of music quality and poor target fanbase.

 

And i'll ignore the "Marvin N Aston is hot" comment because that attitude is really annoying and it will just provoke me to have an even bigger rant than i'm having now. And btw, it's "are hot" not "is hot" ;)

Whilst my first choice was OMH I can see why IGY was chosen as its the safer of the two without being a typical Leona track itself.

 

I'm sure I'll be quoted if I'm wrong but I'm hopeful IGY will do very well and 100% sell the album.

 

OMH definitely won't sell the album as well as IGY imo.

The constant flashing annoys the hell out of me.. Beat Again music video was crap.. Everybody in Love slightly cheesy & their miming is annoying

I disagree, while OMH might peak higher and have bigger sales in the short term, I can see it tumbling out of the Top 40 just as fast as Forgive Me did. It's a big risk, and they can't afford to take that risk after Happy. IGY will have a lot of legs and hit bigger numbers in the long term and should do more for the album than OMH would. If IGY is a success then I think OMH would be an ideal follow up. From a ballad to a mid-tempo with I Got You to to an up-tempo with OMH in the summer. As long as they do release it in the summer season, and they don't wait to autumn to plug her almost certain re-release, they I think OMH would be a sizeable hit. Just not right now.

Sweet Dreams, i know that you are one of the imo few JLS fans who don't fit the stereotype. I think it's great that you are honest and don't feel the need to say you love everything about them - even if you don't.

 

I don't actually have a problem with JLS themselves (bar maybe Aston) but their generally annoying fanbase and poor management/material are what disappoints me. They have potential. Just don't fulfil it.

 

Let's just say they are very lucky they are percieved as good-looking because otherwise they wouldn't be nearly as successful with their current material. If the management showed faith in them and gave them more creative freedom, i could potentially become a fan. But EIL, BA and even OS to an extent are very cheesy.

I agree with you that quite a few JLS fans only like them for their looks..I love One Shot & their other two songs were okayish.. Could have done better with them though

I think their management is really good though..They have done loads since the end of X Factor and constantly being kept in the public eye.. performances at Mobos and now the Brits etc.. I think the next album will be much better imo

Tbh I think some of the songs they co-wrote are much better than Everybody in Love & Beat Again.. Heal this heartbreak for example & Crazy for you..

Their management/label probably just wanted to go down a safe route.. Hopefully they will release some of their own material with the next album
