Viewing figures over the past few years:

2009 - 5.2m

2008 - 6.1m

2007 - 5.3m

Not as many as I thought... but I guess a much higher percentage of music buyers.

Surprised that the show compared by the Osbornes got higher figures than the one compared by Russell Brand - for me the best presenter yet. It'll be interesting to find out what this year's viewing figures will be like given that the Winter Olympics are on at the same time. Don't know about anyone else but I know what I'll be watching.

Urgh! I still hope she does Poker Face and Telephone

She wanted to change it to all black, playing two acoustic songs and having pictures of Alexander McQueen in the background.

Thankfully, it has been reported that she has been convinced against that. I know the death of Alexander McQueen was upsetting but a tribute at the Brits wouldn't really have been appropriate. Her first performance sounded amazing though. I hope she does that...

whats news on british single?! Anyone know...

wasnt their supposed to be top 5phone vote?

Mirror's probably distorting the facts as usual no doubt, like TT says the winners names are already in those glittery envelopes.

It's true that Cheryl was asked to rearrange her performance for the longer 9PM slot.

At least, yesterday it was, but they've already been moving everyone around over the weekend it could still change.

Opening act as of yesterday was

Lilly Allen

tonight at 8 :) looking forward to it.

That was for the last few years, but this year there was no mention at all of top5, phone votes, or whatsoever. So I don't know really, it'd be weird if it was only down to Internet votes. But at least it would reflect more public taste. I guess it's easier for a fan to phone 10 times than to make up 10 fake email accounts to vote. But at the same time who's gonna go on the Brits website to vote? Only diehard fans or music fans I guess...

How can it jepoadise her chance of winning awards when it's been long decided?

That is so true that these things are decided in advance even the bookies admit it, it is a total fix even the so called public votes.Of course no one knows what is happening with Best British single because they want the Top 5 to reflect only the acts that already have numerous nominations or those already performing.

Who do you think will succeed, or more importantly the BRITs snub?

well 9 out of 12 isnt bad!

The bookies were exactly right this year- no surprises at all! :o

JLS are now officially my most hated music act EVER, and will be forever. Until today I couldn't care about them, from now on I will hate them with passion. I do really wish them the worst (music/business wise only of course).

I was watching the BRITs with friends who obviously never heard of JLS, and they were like "how is this pile of $h!t winning twice?". The winners tonight were all decent and UK should be proud of them all, but JLS just brings the whole thing down, a shame to the UK music scene.

Gaga won three awards :o What on gods earth was she wearing?..

I grew to love it as the night drew on

Who won best male and best international male please?
