bjsc_twentyfour//

Isn't this name so hard to memorize? I've so far seen so many versions of it from bjsc_24 to bjsctwenty_four// :(

Not really, I prefer it to roman numerals anyway. :puke2:

what's so hard to memorize about it? Surely Numerals are more confising....you're not having trouble with actual numbers are you?

The important bit is the the "24", is there really any other information that matters? You can remember that can't you?

XXIV FTW tbh :kink:

This is true :(

Any discussion on the covers rule?

As in covers of songs that have already been entered?

I'd say keep that one as it is.

RIGHT. This seems to have come to a natural end. For the record, the only change I think really agreed upon in here was the one on the cheap issue, which seems to have been resolved as follows and will come into effect immediately:

Artist reservation/confirmation stays exactly the same as it always has done, but to construct the monthly banlist each contestant PMs the name of TWO songs and artists to the host, that they feel are too cheap for the contest/don't warrant being there - any song that gets 3 or more nominations is put onto the banlist, along with the usual top 3 from last month...if there are no songs that get 3 nominations they can't have been all that cheap in the first place and no extra banlist is needed. Leave this process open for 3 days after which the host announces which songs have made the banlist and simultaneously opens the artist reservation thread - also this way we would always have at least a 3 day gap as such between contests rather than rushing out of one and straight into another. So the ONLY different thing about BJSC would be the 3 day democratic construction of a banlist - everything else would remain the same, yet it would stop the uber-cheap entries.

Any objections? If not I'll close this and we can go straight into banlist nomination for _twentyfour//

We don't have to nominate songs for the banlist, do we?

Because I have no idea what is cheap and what isn't in the UK. :P

I'd have thought it was optional but encouraged.

Ditto. The same if any country only wants to nominate one artist - song.

It's not a problem as such, but could it not be more than 3 nominations? Because, I can honestly see some people (some, not all) eliminating songs they don't like as opposed to cheap.

I suppose 3 isn't too bad, I'm just thinking out loud here.

I doubt it, but even if that's the case, I can't see 3 people nominating the same song for that reason.

As we've said, we'll put this one down to the host's discretion (with advice from the mods if needed) over whether people are just nominating out of spite for something...

I'm glad my suggestion ended up being used :o hopefully it will work and people don't nominate something to be petty...it's quite nice because it's barely any change to the current rules, yet HOPEFULLY should make the contest that bit more interesting, apart from in months where there are 4 or 5 really cheap songs that could do well yet everybody flocks to vote for the same two...

I guess we'll wait to see how, if at all, it effects the final scoreboards
