January 20, 201015 yr http://twitter.com/BBCEntsTeam ^ Reference to Radio interview I heard on Radio 5Live: Re X Factor Haiti Charity single. Simon Cowell arranging Haiti fundraiser Wednesday, January 20 2010, 23:12 GMT Digitalspy.co.uk By Alex Fletcher, Reality TV Editor Simon Cowell has confirmed that he is organising a single to help raise funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal. Speaking at this evening's National Television Awards, the reality TV judge announced his plans for the charity record. The 50-year-old told PA: "We made the decision today. We had a request from the prime minister and The Sun newspaper, 'Would we put a record together?' So we haven't got a lot of time but we are going to do something and attempt to raise as much money as possible." Cowell's X Factor co-star Cheryl Cole added to Five Live: "I just heard about [the song] tonight. It sounds like a great idea... Simon is great at giving back." Earlier tonight, The X Factor picked up the 'Most Popular Talent Show' gong at the NTAs.
January 20, 201015 yr Cowell's X Factor co-star Cheryl Cole added to Five Live: "Simon is great at giving back." Let the record show I was making such accusations EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT last year.

January 21, 201015 yr Tell you what Simon, how about opening your wallet (I mean he only earnt $127 million last year) and donating to charity instead of inflicting yet another musical monstrosity upon us. If a non Sony act was used as a protest record with that act willing to forego the royalties and donate to the same Haiti Charity Disaster fund then I would be up for supporting it because I am sick to death of the sheer arrogance of Simon Cowell (and his musical gimps Louis Walsh; Piers Morgan & Cheryl Cole) thinking he is entitled to own the charts. I would love to see an anti X-Factor campaign to take on each and every X-Factor related release until Simon Cowell gets the message because I'm sick of his arrogance that is 100x worse than Pete Waterman ever was.
January 21, 201015 yr Let the record show I was making such accusations EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT last year. LOL! :') Oh dear haha Anyway, to the person who said that there is no good release within the next two months (cant remember who) - Ke$ha to be our saviour on Feb 15th/Feb 22nd pl0x.
January 21, 201015 yr I feel violated. That is horrific. And there i was, thinking the worst thing the X Factor could do to my ears was to inflict that talentless slag Cole on us. [if she wasn't on X Factor, she'd have sold less copies of 3words than Siobhan Donaghy sold Ghosts] I of course underestimated Louis Walsh and his 'talent' for inflicting the world with some of the worst boy bands of all time. Cowell/Walsh/Cole should be tried for crimes against humanity.
January 21, 201015 yr God, what have we done to deserve this. :( It's Chico all over again and this'll be just as big. Hopefully they'll be as much of a one hit wonder too.
January 21, 201015 yr ^^ makes me laugh when the country is in recession, good grief What? Why is that any reason to not do a charity record for people in a far far worse situation than us? :/
January 21, 201015 yr This needs to be split into two questions : 1. Where do you *think* it'll chart? 2. Where do you *want* it to chart? 1. #1 unfortunately. :puke: 2. Preferably outside the top 10,000!
January 21, 201015 yr Well, it's better than anything from that crappy Glee Cast. It least it's fun and British. Surely they will be a one hit wonder.
January 21, 201015 yr What a terrifying prospect this is. Jedward at #1. It's going to happen :( Exactly, straight to number one, BUT the release is a bit soon... Hope that ruins it HATE the twins!!!!! :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:
January 21, 201015 yr Well, it's better than anything from that crappy Glee Cast. It least it's fun and British. Surely they will be a one hit wonder. What a rubbish opinion!
January 21, 201015 yr easy #1, what a shame :( bringing Vanilla Ice back to the charts too - what a horrendous double whammy :drama: I knew it wouldn't be Owl City #1 for 8 weeks or whatever everyone was predicting - things like this always crawl out of the woodwork unexpectedly, the release schedule never tells us everything about how a year will pan out as you can't predict fluke events, charity singles and mass hype
January 21, 201015 yr Let me get this straight Simon Cowell is now going to own the entire 2010 charts. Jedward are a joke and the people on here endorsing it should be ashamed of themselves. The Haiti charity record is vile.
