Any poll that lists Ellie Goulding as 2010's biggest hope leaves a lot to the imagination. 'Hollywood' is, imo, a far superior song to 'Starry Eyed'. I've heard both a fair amount of times and I still don't get the big deal with Ellie. If 'Starry Eyed' went to no. 1 I'd be literally gobsmacked as it screams "TOP 40" to me, not even top 30!!! -_-

I'm really happy that Timbaland feat. Katy Perry have overtaken Jedward too. Brilliant!!! :w00t: Also had a feeling Ke$ha 'Blah Blah Blah' would become a big hit in the UK too. I predicted it to be no. 1 in early March as I assumed the track wasn't going to be available until then. Now it looks like it could miss no. 1 but spend the next two months in the top 10 (in a 'Don't Stop The Music' by Rihanna kinda way).

i agree with you. i can see blah blah blah missing number one. it'll probably sell quite a bit. but with all the big songs coming out over the next few weeks that will probably have huge sales, it could be blocked from the top spot. given blah blah blah's sales with no airplay, video, promo or hype, tik tok was a BIG mistake as lead single

YAYY....

If We Ever Meet Again will probably be #1 next week ; im seriously sick of that FIREFLIES song. its beyond a joke now that I gotta feeling is STILL in the top 40; who is downloading it seriously? there must be a campaign to keep it top 40 forever or something? :/

I doubt IWEMA will be higher than #3 next week. I can't see it overtaking OC and we've got the Helping Haiti single which is a surefire #1...

Agree regarding IGF, but it could easily break the record for consecutive weeks in the top 40 which is as far as I'm aware 35 (Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire). There was a longer one but it was during a period where there wasn't an official chart, so it's debatable. IGF is currently on 31 consecutive weeks top 40, so 5 more and it has the record. 11 or 12 more and it'll even beat that debatable one :o

Then again 'Blah Blah Blah' could be to Ke$ha what 'Poker Face' was to Lady GaGa and have about five/six weeks inside the UK top 10/15? Then come the first week of March when the song gets its physical release, it could yet hit the no. 1 spot - I can't see 'Everybody Hurts' being no. 1 for more than four weeks. Then again, there's 'We Are The World 25' still to come./ Haven't a clue when that's getting its UK release nor whether it'll be a massive selling single either.

I would like to see you release a song and have it in the top 40 for going onto 4 months... (keep in mind shes a new artist so shes still building a fanbase)

I think BBB will get to number 1, its at #5 with no video, no promotion, very limited airplay and its about 6 weeks till its official release. It will hang about for a while aswell and get a week at the top spot me thinks.

Also I am shocked lots of people think Starry Eyed will miss top 10/15/20... I think its massive! I can see it going top 5 and sticking around, its a fab song and I don't even like Ellie's voice at all.

Finally am so glad IWEMA is doing soooo well, hopefully it will give the album a needed boost!

Everbody Hurts anyone? ^_^

I think BBB is a fairly certain #1 as well. It'll be another Poker Face / I Gotta Feeling style success imo.
Timbo and Jedward are very inconsistent. Everytime i check they swap ! Hopefully, Timbo and Katy will grab the no.1 by the end of week! Also, glad at Ke$ha's BBB climbing higher, no.5 atm! Plus, to top it all off, Animal is no.1 album! Itunes is making me happy today :D!

my point is... tik tok wasn't as big as blah blah blah is sure to be. it should have been the lead single, i mean it is doing so well without promo

BUT, there are a lot of big releases coming up after the charity singles. i don't like the song at all, but i feel Ellie Goulding will smash. then there's telephone, which i feel is a monster waiting to come

Hmm, I get 45 consecutive weeks for Mr Acker Bilk - Stranger On The Shore.

A shame that blandfest will stop the first decent #01 of the year. :(

Mr Acker is indeed the debatable one.

Oh, I forgot about FGTH :o I'm sure IGF will break the 2000s record which is definitely SOF at the moment.

"Rude Boy" getting it up :P - cnt wait for the videoo  defo gonna be a smash really hope it gets Top 3 or even #1 if possible x
it's a shame Leona is flopping with 'I got you' ... i hope it climbs further though....

That's such a daft thing to say. 'TiK ToK' was hardly a "big mistake" given the magnitude of its success, and besides isn't it an achievement if the second single goes on to be bigger than the first? It will certainly benefit the album more.

Well everyone thought Jedward were a sure Number 1 and they weren't. So maybe Haiti will fail as well and flop?

It wouldn't suprise me either if Haiti failed to get to number 1.

As always - GAGA and B are 42 even when they on radio 1. going to flop.

It's got over a month to go, stop saying this already... it's getting so tedious.
