April 23, 201015 yr Oh the irony  A BNP supporter cheering on a team made entirely of black players http://img.skysports.com/09/11/496x259/Brazil-Squad-World-Cup-2010_2389088.jpg Well I don't care really which team wins it so long as it's not England. :naughty: I was asked to leave a pub in 2006 for cheering on Portugal when they dumped us out that Saturday evening.  Thought we had free speech here? Edited April 23, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
April 26, 201015 yr Author But the tabloids aren't going to bother reporting that sort of allegation about foreign players in a foreign league unless it's someone very high profile. Well, of course not, they're BRITISH "newspapers" mate.... I'm sure the Italian tabloids are full of scandal, etc, regarding some of their lot.... Footballers these days are lying, cheating, whoreing SCUM who drag the sport into the gutter, end of..... How can anyone possibly look up to these maggots as role models is beyond me....

This is a joke right? It's only a very small minority of footballers who have their names tarnish the game. YES they are extremely over paid, I don't think even they would deny that, but that's only because of the popularity that that has been able to happen. The Steven Gerrard thing still, i've not heard it be true yet (although his wife having an affair would not suprise me), and take yesterday for example - the Burnley fans were calling him a p****, and Gerrard just clapped them. Some footballers do great things for charity. I really hate Cristiano Ronaldo, but some of things/done he has donated to charity is quite remarkable. Lionel Messi as well, he does so much for charity. Those two players are arguably the two biggest players in the world right now, and they're both certainly doing the sport no harm. Even David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand (two players who have come under big scrutiny) have done very good deeds for charity. Of course these players are meant to be role models, but the British tabloids will stop at nothing to get a story that will sell papers, and making minor situations ten times worse.
