February 1, 201015 yr Author 84 Beyonce ft Jay-Z 'Deja Vu' - 199 points (11 voters, Wildcard Entry (25th) in Heat 4) zlylg0jJgbM UK Chart Run: 21-{1}-3-8-17-20-26-29-34-44-54-70-70-70-66-67R(5)->16 I said I included the wildcards because I thought they'd transfer their higher points more than some of the other entries which qualified (whether I'd still have included them had I not loved three of the four I don't know :kink:). This one was one, and did transfer most of its big points, but not many other people liked it. Oh well, none of the other three are in the bottom 10. Beyonce's first of 3 solo entries, on top of 2 with Destiny's Child.
February 1, 201015 yr Author 83 Kylie Minogue 'Spinning Around' - 218 points (13 voters, 14th in Heat 4) qaGS3Uts704 UK Chart Run: {1}-3-12-14-17-22-33-38-45-54-56->11 Despite qualifying for the final very comfortably, this struggled throughout the voting and for the vast majority was cast away at the bottom. At one point the song above had three times its score.
February 1, 201015 yr Deja Vu is terrible while Spinning Around is lacklustre in comparison to what was to come, both deservedly at the foot of this.
February 1, 201015 yr Author 82 Destiny's Child 'Independant Women Pt 1' - 236 points (16 voters, 20th in Heat 2) WuMmfDWMLgY UK Chart Run: {1}-2-4-7-9-7-10-17-26-32-37-42-59-71-68->15 Originally I would've expected this to do quite well. However it only scraped through to the final so a low finish is hardly unexpected.
February 1, 201015 yr Author Deja Vu is terrible while Spinning Around is lacklustre in comparison to what was to come, both deservedly at the foot of this. 'Deja Vu' is probably my favourite Beyonce song, maybe just behind 'Irreplaceable'
February 1, 201015 yr My only complaint so far is that those 3 songs made it into the final at all. Deja Vu was an incredibly weak single, to these ears, it was simply a watered-down version of Crazy In Love. Independent Women was simply annoying, urban music designed to appeal to the Heart FM housewife brigade. Spinning Around is the one I really do not get though - it's just so incredibly generic and flimsy. There's NOTHING special or stand-out behind it, it's just throwaway, and of all the #1 records from 2000, I would pick out this and "Music" as being the most dated. If it weren't for Kylie in her hotpants, this song would have sunk without a trace.
February 1, 201015 yr Author 81 Fedde Le Grand 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' - 243 points (13 voters, 19th in Heat 4) HYPqA4slnbQ UK Chart Run: 2-{1}-4-6-7-8-9-15-19-18-16-19-26-30-32-40-49-48-58-71->20 I'm not in the slightest bit surprised this struggled, it never looked like it wouldn't finish near the bottom. I think it did well to qualify really, it's not the type of song BuzzJack love, and it kept Girls Aloud from the top spot too. Hurrah!
February 1, 201015 yr 'Deja Vu' is probably my favourite Beyonce song, maybe just behind 'Irreplaceable'  indeed!!! :o Love that Destiny's Child track though, it took on a whole second lease of life for me after it's fantastic inclusion on the 2 Many DJs compilation. :disco:
February 1, 201015 yr Keeping GA off the top spot is the only thing I'm grateful to Fedde le Grande for. Other than that, it's DREADFUL tuneless dirge.
February 1, 201015 yr Author 80 Justin Timberlake 'SexyBack' - 256 points (18 voters, 20th in Heat 3) BZs_4sYu-Ck UK Chart Run: 13-{1}-2-2-3-5-9-9-12-18-21-23-28-31-32-47-52-53-30-34-55-62-71-71-74-69-68-68-63-73-72R(2)->31 The countdown may have started with three females but it's now started to get a bit less surprising with the males towards the bottom. This only qualified by a single point though, so it's not done that badly really. Better than most of his output, I have to say.
February 1, 201015 yr SexyBack really grew on me. I hated it, but I think that was really because I was determined to hate anything Justin Timberlake came out with. I've gotten over that - this is a pretty good club song.
February 1, 201015 yr Author  indeed!!! :o Love that Destiny's Child track though, it took on a whole second lease of life for me after it's fantastic inclusion on the 2 Many DJs compilation. :disco: YOUR SEXYNESS IS SO APPEALING I CAN'T LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Doing this made me realise there were some good number ones I don't actually own so I had to buy. 'Deja Vu' was one of them. ^_^
