Robyn

had received quite a lot of hype on Radio 1 after she performed the track on their Live Lounge. So impressive it was released as an alternative mix to iTunes as well as about 16 other remixes of the track. So all the combined sales were thankfully enough to top the UK chart. ^_^

i absolutely hated

10 Leona Lewis 'Run' - 763 points (29 voters, 5th in Heat 2)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-3-2-2-4-9-12-20-26-31-38-43-55-32-43-62-57-56-67-75-69-75-73R(22)-67R(5)->25

Her third number one and the highest cover version to appear in this countdown. It had always been extremely popular when she covered it on Radio 1's Live Lounge, but it was finally released last year and shot straight to number one.

09 Lily Allen 'The Fear' - 777 points (34 voters, 4th in Heat 3)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-1-1-5-7-12-17-17-19-19-19-28-29-31-35-43-45-58-65->20

Three of last years number ones have managed to make the top 10 here, but this is the lowest of the three giving Lady GaGa the top 2 2009 number one singles. The return of Lily Allen was always going to be highly anticipated and she picked a good time to make her return, right at the start of the year when it's mainly about launching the new artsist. 'The Fear' is very classy and quite different from her 'Alright, Still' material. It looked like she was going to really grow up musically, but then came 'Not Fair'...

I wonder if there are any songs which got over 1,000 points?

Coldplay

will be next, I'm fairly certain. YAY @

them

going top 8 though :w00t:

Run was actually released two years ago ;)

No, it was released in 2009! Sales in 2008 was from the unreleased single on the album.

Adore 'Run', such an amazing take on it. 'The Fear' grew old fairly fast however imo. :(
Loved Run :wub: Definatly deserved top 10. The Fear, not quite worthy of top 10 but definatly the best song Lily Allen has ever come across.

08 Leona Lewis 'Bleeding Love' - 861 points (34 voters, 4th in Heat 4)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-2-3-12-17-16-28-33-37-33-33-41-40-43-38-45-53-54-69-68->28

A pretty huge margin between this and 'The Fear'. After just under half of the votes cast the top 8 songs would remain the same for the rest of the voting and not look like being overtaken. This one was perhaps surprisingly always towards the bottom of it, but it's still a very good position for the song which made Leona a global sensation.

Only one song broke the 1,000 point barrier...

Hmm, I did mean 2008. Time goes so quickly. :(

WTAF! :mellow: I genuinely thought 'Bleeding Love' would come Top 5, Top 3/a win wasn't out of the question either! :o

I'm genuinely shocked :o

07 Sugababes 'About You Now' - 865 points (38 voters, 1st in Heat 3)

UK Chart Run: 35-{1}-1-1-1-4-6-6-10-10-11-14-15-19-12-13-21-26-29-35-43-50-60-68-62R(2)-60-67-59-74-47R(13)-34-52->32

Like 'Push The Button' I think this song is very simple and it was quite underwhelming on first listen, but it's actually a great pop song that still sounds fresh 2 and a half years on. It's always been immenselt popular and if this didn't end up being the highest placed Sugababes song I'd have been very surprised, it was another song that was always going to finish fairly high and be a potential number one, I certainly never thought it would be beaten by my favourite number one of all time......
