her three songs are up to #2, #9 and #10 on iTunes Germany - very popular girl, she'll be #1 within hours

I reckon this will be their biggest hit since No No Never in 2006, which if I recall correctly spent AGES in the German charts and was a huge selling #1 single there which lingered around for ages long after the contest!

It's about time Germany returned to the top ten in ESC and hopefully this is their chance to do it!

Satellite sounds better on second listen, and it would be quite hilarious to see her at Eurovision - Lena would definitely be love/hate, she's like a pretend Kate Nash

Well have you seen her performances of Kate Nash songs? ^_^

(don't know if that can be seen from outside Germany - it's her singing "Foundations")

I really like this :o Not my usual kind of thing, but it's really interesting to see a song like this in Eurovision, and I love Lena's voice, so unique  I think this can be top 10, it will definitely do better than the UK :(

German iTunes;

1. Lena - Satellite

2. Lena - Bee

3. Lena - Love Me

4. Jennifer - I Care For You

7. Jennifer - Bee

13. Jennifer - Satellite

BLIMEY :o they love Lena as much as I do, maybe more :heehee: glad to see Bee at #2, it's lovely! I want an album by her too!

I don't like her to much, from the last four i liked her the least . The song is not quite bad, but i don't see this in top 10, she has not really the power and versatility to bring that to a public which didn't know her at all from before, as the publicum from Eurovision is.

Seeing as the UK is sending utter $h!te and this is utterly fabulous, i'm German for ESC this year :kink: . [i was born in Wegberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen]

I liked last years German entry, and for me this is even better!

Always do like German entries. Amazing in 2006. Really good in 2008. A nice chest in 2009 (but with horrible shiny pants) :kink:

This is one of the best this year. I do love women singers with voices like that

Anyone know where I can download all the studio versions, other than iTunes or whatever? I already have Lena's version of "Satellite", but I want the others 'cause they seem to be getting removed from YouTube, or audio-swapped.
This is REALLY odd - I can't make up my mind on it at all. It has a way of worming itself into my mind despite the fact it's a pretty average song...it'll rely entirely on the draw, I don't think it's immediate enough to do much from anywhere in the first half of the show. I have no idea how the juries will respond to it either...
I don't think it will do overly well sadly...she's just too odd for Eurovision I think...the juries won't get it and the public will go for something more conventional I think.

This has apparently 'broken records' in Germany. They've massively got behind this song, and her two other NF entries - all are top 3 on iTunes still there :o

I definitely think they'll be using this format every year from now on. I wish the UK would do a similar process next year (but with 6 to 8 songs, each to suit different singers not just the one tailored for each singer) The UK haven't properly gotten behind an entry pre-contest since Gina G :(

Well, I guess Scooch went top 5 here after the contest somehow  Captain Russ and flight attendant Caroline (who are now together!) are one of the couples currently on 'Coach Trip' on Channel 4. He's a massive personality, moreso than anyone else on the programme, I reckon he'd be incredibly annoying to be with the whole time

Back to Germany, the video's awful, but the song is easily my favourite German entry since 2006

If Norway don't win, I hope Germany does

I would love to go to Berlin next year :kink: I've been there before! Love the city

Video isn't great, but I'm glad they have a proper video, and not just a video of her live performance, even if this one does seem to switch camera angles far too much.

I hope they get a good result, because they've really got behind it, and coming last would be so unfair. And yes, if it gets a good enough result, I expect them to use the same format - next year, it'll be "Unser Star fur London" ;)

This entry is why I'm looking forward to the EBU deadline, because all videos of this song seem to be getting removed from YouTube, but I doubt they'd try to remove the one uploaded on the official ESC YouTube channel

Apparently its the fastest download song of all time there and is currently outselling the rest of the top 10 combined :o

Its really growing on me

I don't think the BBC particularly care enough to go for a good result most of the time...if the BBC properly put effort in, we could walk Eurovision basically every other year. They don't ever want to win because it would take up so much of their budget - we put £200,000 towards Eurovision, which is the highest contribution and sounds a lot, but is probably about equivalent to ten minutes of Doctor Who. Hosting is a nightmare for the BBC because it kills their budget and is a multi-million pound affair...

Just listened to it. It's crap. Aura Dione/Emiliana rip-off too

At least it reflects what they're currently liking and listening to rather than us who are sending something we wouldn't have even been listening to in 1998  I love it anyway, as much as Aura and Emiliana.

I know now why i don't like the song. The song would be funny with someone else as a voice, a more dance-pop voice. But Lena has a very limited range, she sings it like a cabaret song, with speaking where she cannot hold a note. Her voice would suit totally other way of songs, with a lot of emphasis on good lyrics.

The video is crap  . Still my fav german entry is the song from Texas Lightning...
