CARLA she AIN'T.[/size]

Carla (Alison) is good ... but Sally (Sally) is way better.

The hammiest female in Corrie at the moment is Katharine Kelly. I really did like the character of Becky to begin with ... but Kelly overacts like made. I can't stand her at the moment.

What taxi driver died!? And I agree - massive copout; Peter would've died in his circumstances before reaching the hospital!

 idiculous copout

They might as well just have killed 4 extras off if they were going to mess with us like that!

Sally was dodgy for much of last week, but I thought she was MARVELLOUS in the showdown with Kevin. She played pretty much every emotion going, from anger to upset to shock to pure hatred, but all without ever going really OTT.

I 100% agree, Sally, Claire, Fizz & Leanne all deserve awards for this week.

Becky has become overused imo.

I agree with all of this. Apart from Fizz - she deserves to be shot! And her eyes get more cross eyed the angrier she gets. I just think, as mad as she was, Charlotte would have been a much more suitable partner for John. At least he'd have never got bored.

My only disappointment with the past week was the lack of Liz & Jim, I thought they'd be more involved in the 50th week and they have just been forgot about.
:o what has tracey done to gail?? she's goin mental!

She swore, on the witness stand, that Gail had confessed to her that she'd killed Joe. Knocking him senseless with a rolling pin.

I love the character ... but my god Kate Ford is possibly one of the worst actresses I've ever seen in my life.

Kate is terrible - yet, I still love Tracy, and somehow the poor acting adds to it. Bizarre.

'It's the most exciting new arrival for 2000 years' was a terrible returning line though - the writers could've done so much better. Something like 'don't say your prayers too soon - I'm back' would've been so much more effective, and... sassy.

The way she delivered that 2000 years line was SO hilariously awful. It could've been done with a real comic twist - she just BLURTED it out whilst grinning like a crazy person.

She just said it as woodenly as possible - it would seem after 3 years in prison, she's forgotten how to act..

That line was so cringeworthy, overall though especially the 2nd episode, it was really good I was constantly laughing
It really annoys me, this past month we've been reminded how great Claire is in Corrie and she'll be off soon

I was thinking that I'm hoping that the producers may change their minds when they see the positive reactions Julie Howarth's performances have got. Mind you ... if the character felt the Street was too much of a reminder of bad times a month ago ... god knows what she thinks of it now. I'd be off to France like sugar off a shovel!

They are planning to let Claire go out with a juicy bang though!

Lovely little article from DS:

ITV The cast of Coronation Street have reportedly voted Jane Danson as giving the best performance on the soap's live 50th anniversary show. The Mancunian actress received significant critical acclaim when her character Leanne Battersby wed Peter Barlow at his hospital bed in the aftermath of the Weatherfield tram disaster, only to break down when he flatlined upon the completion of their vows.

The News of the World reports that cast and crew held a secret ballot after broadcast for the night's best actor, of which Danson was the runaway winner. A show source explained: "Everyone put their nomination in a box and they could not vote for themselves. Jane won hands down. She's a smashing girl and a really strong actress. But they all performed well. Nobody let the side down at all."

Good to see Corrie doing what it does best tonight ... comedy. Even if it was a bit black.

I loved Lancashire's very own 'War of the Roses' going on between Sally and Kevin.

I don't know whether Deirdre's dreadful wailing last night detracted from or added to an otherwise very entertaining episode.

I'm loving Mary more each day. 'My mother used to have visions' .... 'I have a vision ... Tracey Barlow lying on a slab'.

Dierdre could NEVER detract from any episode featuring Tracyluv. Every single actor that woman shares the screen with seems like Meryl Streep by default paired with her. Can somebody explain to me why she keeps insulting everybody? For no reason whatsoever?! It's such a 2D cardboard cut out of what a soap 'bitch' should be, all cheap put-downs (delivered terribly) with no motivation behind them. I don't know who thought the show needed HER in its current state.

Anyway in spite of all that I'm enjoying it greatly at the minute - Becky and Steve are amazing (I literally never know if they're genuinely rowing or just winding each other up), Claire (who I wish wasn't going), Leanne and Peter (sod off, Nick), GAIL (who is FABULOUS when she has a grudge), CLAUDIA & AUDREY ('Aud. REY. AUDREY!'). I even like the Websters this week! Not Rosie mind, just the others.

I think my favourite moment of the last week was probably Deirdre calling Ken sanctimonious - that or Tracyluv's laughable seduction of David Platt.

I agree with all this, Tracey is bringing the show down atm. Although when she was seducing David it was hilarious when she told him to stop talking about his Mum
