February 22, 201015 yr Whitney's mum was a character in Eastenders for longer than one episode? :\ Completely passed me by...
February 22, 201015 yr Author Gosh, Debra, low times! I don't know if it's because I wasn't paying much attention to the omnibus that week, but that storyline with her, Ryan, Whitney and the knife is possibly my lowest point in the past year or so. I really couldn't have cared what direction it was going in and I tend to forget where it did lead. I think it was just some bizarre confrontation in Pat's living room where Ryan held them 'hostage' to prove how 'dangerous' he was. NEW BAD BOY IN THE SQUARE ALERT etc. Except... no.
February 22, 201015 yr To be frank, I don't understand how Debra made the cut when the general response to her was one big ???, when at the same time there was no room for Tracy.

February 22, 201015 yr Author To be frank, I don't understand how Debra made the cut when the general response to her was one big ???, when at the same time there was no room for Tracy. It's not hard to understand is it? Debra was in 11 episodes all of which featured a reasonably big part for her and as a result we learned about her character somewhat. Over those 11 episodes she had far, far more dialogue than Tracey has had in her entire 25 years in the show. This is a character rate. The whole joy of Tracey is that we know nothing about her character! She's a total mystery! How can you rate her? The only thing that will happen as a result of the inclusion of Tracey is that people will loon up because they love how she's always in the background, but that doesn't give other characters who are actually possible to rate fairly much of a chance does it? It just means she gets a free pass into the top ten or even top five. :P

It wasn't long ago she was having arguments with Roxy about the Vic! And frankly the furore over Tracy's sacking generated much more interest than the nonsense with Debra did. In my book, 25 years >>>>> 11 episodes.
February 22, 201015 yr Author Okay well I apologise for making a decision which is actually pretty logical in the face of LOONDOM. If you don't want the rest of a countdown from the sort of VILLAIN who would cruelly exclude Tracey then that's fine by me.

You know I think this countdown is going to be fabulous, it would just have been a little more so had there been TRACY. And frankly this whole thread is devoted to EE LOONDOM, I eagerly await your restrained and objective write-up on Tanya Branning!
February 23, 201015 yr In fairness, there is plenty of criticism in this thread. It's not all loonies.
February 25, 201015 yr OMG Tracy's been sacked?! :o :o :o :( [/late] (Or do you mean from the Vic and not the soap in general? or has she been sacked from the soap?! I'm confuzzled :()
February 25, 201015 yr Author 52 (47) Liam Butcher 3.88 (3.41) http://i48.tinypic.com/2h66dmo.jpg This runt is just one of life's LOSERS. He is without a doubt destined to spend many of his adult years either on the dole or on the till at Aldi - you decide which fate is worse. I don't think genetics should have to take all the blame because as hopeless as daddy Rickaaay is, he still managed to get hitched to a wonderful woman before hitting 40. Liam does not share these prospects. He will be the token neighbour that nobody speaks to because they're convinced that under the cap lies a mentally-disturbed manchild. If I were Liam's doctor/psychiatrist/relative/friend I would recommend a hefty dose of tough love and lock him in a room with Janine for a few days. He'd come out of it a new man. 51 (-) Syd Chambers 4.00 http://i45.tinypic.com/jfxp8w.jpg It's no secret that soaps do bitches really well. Usually though, the character in question is intended to be a bitch. Sadly in the case of Syd Chambers, she just had one of those faces which does not endear itself. In the beginning she had potential; she was fun, upbeat, and her only baggage came in the form of a truly likeable son, Noah (who it seems I forgot to include in this rate - whoops!). But then she became a drag, constantly harping on to her unsuspecting boyfriend Bradley (RIP) about money and jobs and the sort of mundane shit that people in soaps just don't discuss. Perhaps if she had spent her time in Walford swanning around between Booty and The Vic comparing notes with Chelsea we would've quite liked her, being the rubbish vapid consumers we are. But Syd blew her chances when she tried to dethrone QUEEN STACEY OF HEARTS and after that she simply had to go. To quote a different psycho entirely: Why so SERIOUS?

February 25, 201015 yr I never did quite get the hate with Syd. I wasnt a regular EE watcher for her last few weeks on screen admittetly though. Liam surely doesnt deserve to be that low? Nothing overly horrific with him.
February 25, 201015 yr Liam's really not as bad as people make him out to be, he's just a little useless, but most children in soaps are. He is clearly going to just become Ricky Jnr though. Syd was a bit meh. I don't think anyone really cared, it was obvious almost from the start that she was only there to be a slight road hump for Bradley and Stacey.
February 25, 201015 yr My only problem with Syd is that she didnt leave in a box. That one expression and tone. Ugh. Canada is welcome to her.
