February 17, 201016 yr No Lemar. No Florence and Dizzee. <_ this dated dinosaur organisation requires a restructering.> https://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/statements2008/radio/radio1.shtml Edited February 17, 201016 yr by Ricky
February 17, 201016 yr Author why would they add the mashup of Florence & Dizzee? Its not a single, and both songs were A-listed seperately a few weeks ago...Plus Florence were bumped up to the A-list this week with their current single...

Because on the few occasions a British act has something good to celebrate the BBC should be promoting it - it's part of it's remit. It's the BBC not the ABC(American broadcasting corporation). See the long discussions and problems of having the US artists dominate the UK charts with the few exceptions of X-Factor karaote singers. Edited February 17, 201016 yr by Ricky
February 17, 201016 yr Starstrukk is out. Thought I'd never see the Day. Justin Bieber on the B-List ^_^. Snooze week.
February 17, 201016 yr Author Because on the few occasions a British act has something good to celebrate the BBC should be promoting it - it's part of it's remit. It's the BBC not the ABC(American broadcasting corporation). See the long discussions and problems of having the US artists dominate the UK charts with the few exceptions of X-Factor karaote singers. And the BBC has supported both artists pretty well, if they're not having big hits then that's the recording buying public's decision. How many records on the playlist are from British acts? Yeah, the vast majority.
February 17, 201016 yr A lot of those songs really do need to move up soon... Leona, GaGa, Gorillaz, BEP, everything on the INMWT list... Anyway, not heard any of the new additions bar Jamie T and KIGH. Emily's Heart is amazing, but not quite up to the quality of his last three singles... Matters At All is alright, not as good as Youngblood. Anyhow, good for DDAO, NBYW, IITH, Halcyon and BedRock for moving up to A, A, B, B and C respectively ^_^ And I don't get why they haven't removed Danny Byrd yet, but I admire them for keeping it there another week :) No Lemar though
February 17, 201016 yr Author Marina, You Me At Six and Danny Bird need to go. And even Jay Sean is starting to get spiderwebs

How many records on the playlist are from British acts? Yeah, the vast majority.I agree they help a lot of UK artists and the playlist is mainly UK based. But they don't seem to grasp what of the british acts are catching on and response accordingly - hence the dinosaur aspect. They should be aware that Florence/Dizzy are iTunes #1 already and playlisted it today.

They should be aware that Florence/Dizzy are iTunes #1 already and playlisted it today. Not all the songs that go to #1 on I-Tunes will get support from Radio 1. I dont see why that mashup should be playlisted, its doing well based on the Brits only, its not a single at all. If they playlisted it today, it would only start to get played next Monday, and by the following week the song is probably already going fast down the charts. On the other hand Lemar...
February 17, 201016 yr ...and Leona is glued to the C-List  Another song pretty much like all her other stuff. No creativity or inspiration to it. Can't pronounce her words - "I got chew" - it's a mess. Lucky to stay on the playlist, it's not one I would be keeping personally and I do think Leona is an amazing singer, just that producing this second rate stuff I don't want to hear.

February 17, 201016 yr At least this week is proving that lack of Radio 1 support doesn't mean a flop single as Lemar looks like he could bag himself a well deserved top 10 hit this week. I still wouldn't rule out Radio 1 playlisting 'The Way Love Goes' next week. If it doesn't appear next week then it'll most likely never appear. I guess Lemar's single appeals to a slightly older audience - the 25-40 ages group as opposed to the teenybopper 16-24 which is why it doesn't appear. Then again, looking at some of those singles being playlisted, if that's what appeals to 16-24 year olds, I'm glad I'm 29!!!

What the F are Radio 1 playing playing at.
