Amy Macdonald's new single isn't much cop imo whereas I think 'On A Mission' is an excellent track definitely worthy of becoming a UK no. 1 hit. Just because it's not Radio 1 playlisted also doesn't mean an instant flop. I really hope Gabriella Cilmi scores a massive hit when it's released.

It is a totally $h!te list and why is Lemar being treated so shoddily.I think there is an element of spite regarding Leona, Pixie is already A-list and Everybody Hurts still C as well.Why is Bedrock still C-list it is doing well on itunes and is everywhere on the music channels.I will eat my hat if Tinie Tempah A-list goes Top 20.

I think Lemar is proving that you can still have single succees without radio 1 or 2's backing if you have big support ofrom Capital & the big commercial stations.

 

Not surprised Leona is still only C list given what they play on radio 1. Her single is much more suited to radio 2 where she is A listed. I take it she's also getting great support from the big commercials if she's top 10 on airplay.

Well Gabriella got playlisted on Radio 2 this week (on the C-List), and Goldfrapp and Amy are both A-List there so maybe all hope is not lost for them... but it will definitely be a struggle with the snubs by Radio 1. :drama:

In that case it is yet again Radio 2 showing superior taste when it comes to new music.

 

I can just about understand them snubbing Goldfrapp for ageism reasons (funny how the BBC is politically correct "ethically diverse" in so many ways except when it comes to ageism), as Alison Goldfrapp is 43 years old.

 

But I just don't understand how Radio 1 can reject the new single by an 18 year old about to release her second album with a track written and produced by Xenomania that has had near fantastic reviews in pop blogs on the internet and in tabloids; and the lead single by a 22 year old Scottish singer songwriter when they A Playlist (the excellent) Mumford & Sons a folk rock group whom scream perfect Radio 2 material, but not really Radio 1 material; but I guess they have to find room for Disney lite $h!te like Justin Bieber don't they.

 

Little wonder the gap between Radio 2 and Radio 1 listenership is getting wider and wider....

 

I heard Lemar played on Galaxy earlier. They seem to back him alot :D

Not really. The charts are quite dire ATM.

Lemar's last era didnt go partically well so I wasnt partically expecting them to playlist him up until this week. The Way Love Goes is top 10 on I-Tunes and yet they still refuse to playlist him, heck I remember they ignored Esmee Denters yet when she got I-Tunes top 20 she was playlisted.

Gabriella, unfortunetly I think Radio 1 are living on the pretense that she's a one hit wonder. She isnt, and refusing to playlist her is rather strange. I just hope she manages to prove them wrong and get a hit out of it :(

Couldnt disagree more with you. The two things I dislike about Radio 1 are the playlist and The Chart Show. Heck, even Fearnne Cotton isnt all that bad now she's been seperated from Reggie.
