February 20, 201016 yr Whilst I can see your point, a lot of these people are from reality shows and competition shows, and there are only so many slots in the playlist so it has to be 'out with the old' and 'in with the new' so enough slots are still occupied by others who haven't been on X Factor, Pop Idol etc etc. Leona is fairly old news now and has done very very well to get to this point I think but all fame from these shows is relatively short-lived. People who go on these shows have a good chance of success - I mean, look how many people have been playlisted from X Factor recently - Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Joe McElderry. It is not possible to playlist them all without sacrificing others. V V Brown is just as good as these people (if not better) and has got no airplay by them. Thankfully her label seem to be forgiving, as MPHO was in a similar situation, except she's now been dropped. Yeah but, the reality show acts get playlisted when they are arguably, still puppets. Once, or I should say, if, they become genuine and unique artists and worked hard for their careers, then they get dropped! (Unless they are Girls Aloud!) It should be the other way round. Radio one were all over Leona last year, and are now all over JLS. Nah, I just think they care about popularity, they don't trust in new music, nor do they exude any kind of musical integrity, IMO.

If I'm not mistaken, MPHO made the Radio 1 playlist with "Box N Locks" and did well on there, it just failed in the charts and she didn't get another single. :(
